Afro-Tech Girls launches major scholarship initiative to empower 50 female STEM students across Nigerian universities

In a major step toward breaking barriers for women in science and technology, Afro-Tech Girls has unveiled a brand-new scholarship programme called Project 100 for 50 — an inspiring initiative designed to support female undergraduate students studying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in Nigeria.

The programme is all about opening doors. It aims to help brilliant young women overcome the financial challenges that too often stand in the way of their education, innovation, and career growth in tech-driven fields.

About the Project 100 for 50 Scholarship

The Project 100 for 50 Scholarship is more than just a financial grant — it’s a commitment to uplifting the next generation of women innovators.

Afro-Tech Girls plans to award ₦100,000 each to 50 outstanding female students currently enrolled in STEM courses at universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.

This one-time scholarship is meant to help cover tuition fees, educational materials, or other study-related costs that can make all the difference in a student’s academic journey.

Beyond funding, the initiative is a reflection of Afro-Tech Girls’ mission — to increase women’s participation in STEM, foster innovation, and build a more inclusive digital future for Africa.

Who Can Apply

The scholarship is open to female undergraduate students who are passionate about making an impact in the world of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a STEM-related course at a recognized tertiary institution in Nigeria.

  • Demonstrate strong academic dedication and a genuine passion for innovation or technology.

  • Be willing to actively participate in the Afro-Tech Girls community and make use of mentorship opportunities.

What Beneficiaries Will Gain

Project 100 for 50 goes beyond just offering financial help — it’s about creating opportunities for growth, mentorship, and connection.

Selected scholars will receive:

  • A ₦100,000 scholarship to support their education.
