What happens when two all-time sports legends casually cross paths on a golf course? If you’re Michael Jordan, you make it memorable—and hilarious.

The basketball icon recently ran into NFL great Lawrence Taylor at his ultra-exclusive Grove XXIII golf club in Florida, and let’s just say MJ wasted no time doing what he does best: talking smack.

A Friendly Reunion Turns Into Comedy Gold

Jordan, decked out in his Tiger Woods-inspired “Sun Day Red” golf gear, pulled up on a group of golfers mid-round.

Among them was Taylor, the Hall of Fame linebacker and two-time Super Bowl champ.

After a few warm hugs and handshakes, things quickly turned playful.

MJ asked Taylor how his game was going, to which the football legend gave a laid-back, “Alright, just hanging in there.”

Classic golf talk, right? But Jordan wasn’t about to let that chill response—or Taylor’s fashion choices—slide by unnoticed.

MJ Can’t Resist Roasting LT’s Footwear

As Jordan was about to hop back into his golf cart, he glanced down and spotted Taylor’s… choice of shoes.

Black slip-on loafers paired with black socks. On his golf course? Oh no, that was all the invitation Jordan needed to fire off a friendly jab.

“Man, you really doing motherf***ing relaxing on my golf course!” he said with that signature grin, sending the whole group—including Taylor—into fits of laughter.

Just two legends having a good time, with Jordan proving that even in retirement, the trash talk never retires.

A Competitive History That Runs Deep

Jordan and Taylor go way back, both having played at the University of North Carolina around the same time.

Their bond isn’t just based on mutual respect—it’s built on decades of shared competitiveness.

Back in 2020, Taylor even told The New York Post that Jordan is the most competitive person he’s ever known.

“He’ll bet on a daggone 50-foot putt and goddammit, if he bets on it, nine times out of 10 he’s gonna make it,” Taylor said.

Jordan Never Turns Off That Competitive Edge

Taylor made it clear that while Jordan might laugh and joke, underneath it all, he’s always locked in.

“Don’t get it confused, he is trying to win every bet… everything that is out there,” he said.

“He’s trying to win at all times. And there’s nothing wrong with that.”

So whether it’s Game 7 of the NBA Finals or a mid-morning golf round, Jordan stays Jordan.

And if you’re sharing a course with him, don’t expect to go unnoticed—especially if your footwear isn’t up to his standards.
