Change is no stranger to Cristiano Ronaldo. Since making the move to Saudi Arabia, the football legend has witnessed quite a bit of turnover at Al-Nassr — and now, he’s had to say goodbye once again.
This time, it’s coach Stefano Pioli who’s heading out the door, and Ronaldo took a moment to show his appreciation.
A Simple Thank You with a Big Message
Ronaldo jumped on social media — specifically X (formerly known as Twitter) — to drop a short but heartfelt message.
Responding to the club’s announcement of Pioli’s exit, he simply wrote: “Grazie per tutto,” which means “Thank you for everything” in English.
It wasn’t long before fans started reading into the post, with many speculating what this change could mean for both the club and Ronaldo himself.
Another Coach, Another Exit
Pioli’s departure makes him the fourth head coach to leave Al-Nassr since Ronaldo signed with the club in January 2023.
Before him, there was Rudi Garcia, then Dinko Jelicic, and later Luís Castro — all of whom failed to bring lasting success to the team.
Despite all the talent and investment, Al-Nassr still hasn’t managed to clinch the Saudi Pro League title.
In fact, they finished third last season, a full 13 points behind title-winners Al-Ittihad.
Only One Trophy in the Ronaldo Era
Since Ronaldo’s high-profile arrival, Al-Nassr has only added one piece of silverware to its trophy cabinet: the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
And while that was a sweet moment, it hasn’t been enough to satisfy expectations from fans or pundits.
The lack of major success even sparked some eyebrow-raising rumors — including the possibility of Ronaldo switching teams again.
Transfer Rumors Stirred by a Surprising Source
Things got especially strange when FIFA president Gianni Infantino made a comment that set the internet buzzing.
Speaking to YouTuber iShowSpeed, Infantino hinted at talks involving Ronaldo potentially featuring in the newly-expanded Club World Cup.
That unexpected statement, paired with Ronaldo’s own cryptic message on X — “This chapter is over.
The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.” — led many to wonder: is Ronaldo leaving?
But Is Ronaldo Actually Leaving Al-Nassr?
Despite the gossip, it now seems Ronaldo isn’t going anywhere — at least not yet.
Reports suggest the superstar is preparing to renew his contract, with a mind-blowing figure being floated: £167 million per year.
And if Ronaldo’s own words are anything to go by, he’s not done at Al-Nassr.
After Portugal’s Nations League victory over Spain earlier this month, he told reporters: “Future? It won’t change anything. Al-Nassr, yes.”
What’s Next for Al-Nassr and Ronaldo?
So, what’s next? With a new coaching vacancy and fresh rumors cooling down, all eyes are once again on Al-Nassr to make some big decisions.
Can they finally find a coach who’ll bring consistency and titles?
And as for Ronaldo — will this next chapter be the one where he lifts the Saudi Pro League trophy at last? Only time will tell.
