The name Sipho Mbule is back in the spotlight, this time with a fresh update from his agent Mike Makaab.
After initially brushing off rumours, Makaab has now confirmed that the 27-year-old midfielder has officially been offered to Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new Betway Premiership season.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Makaab clarified the situation in no uncertain terms: “Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs.
It is up to the club to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.”
This marks a sharp turnaround from an earlier denial reported in FARPost.
Mamelodi Sundowns Cut Ties Amid Off-Field Issues
Mbule’s stint at Mamelodi Sundowns came to an unexpected early end.
Although his contract was supposed to run until June 30, 2025, the club chose not to activate the two-year extension option.
Reports suggest that concerns about his behaviour off the pitch played a major role in this decision.
Signed from SuperSport United in 2022, Mbule was once hailed as a key signing for the Brazilians. Unfortunately, his time at Chloorkop didn’t quite hit the mark, with his performances failing to live up to the early hype.
Loan Move to Sekhukhune United Offered Hope but Problems Persisted
To try and get his career back on track, Mbule spent a season on loan at Sekhukhune United.
Under the guidance of coach Lehlohonolo Seema, he showed flashes of his ability—scoring twice and assisting three times in 17 appearances across all competitions.
Sadly, those positive signs didn’t last. Rumours started circulating that Mbule turned up to training sessions under the influence of alcohol, reigniting concerns about his professionalism and commitment.
Chiefs Fans Divided as Club Considers Mbule Offer
Mbule’s situation has stirred up plenty of chatter among Kaizer Chiefs supporters and on social media.
Some fans see him as the creative midfielder the team desperately needs, while others worry his off-field issues make him a risky signing.
With his agent confirming the offer, the decision now rests with Kaizer Chiefs.
Will they take the gamble on Mbule and hope he turns things around, or will they walk away and look elsewhere?
