What started as a surprising political alliance has now completely unraveled in public.
Former buddies Donald Trump and Elon Musk are throwing jabs, nuking each other’s reputations, and, yes—bringing a whole lot of drama to Washington.
And guess who’s loving every second of it? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
While heading into the Capitol, the New York Congresswoman was asked about the very public feud. Her response? Classic AOC sass.
“Oh man, the girls are fighting, aren’t they?”
A Feud That Was Bound to Happen
AOC didn’t hold back. She said what a lot of people were already thinking: Trump and Musk’s friendship was never built to last.
“These two huge egos were not long for being together in this world as friends,” she added. “This breakup’s been a long time coming.”
She also pointed out the real concern isn’t just their personal fallout—it’s what this means for policy.
Musk has been raging against Trump’s hefty spending bill, going so far as to call for the president’s impeachment.
Musk Melts Down Over the “Big Beautiful Bill”
Once a government insider as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk is now leading a one-man crusade against Trump’s budget.
He says the bill threatens everything he’s worked on and warned it could trigger a recession by year’s end.
And because Musk never does anything halfway, he even floated a conspiracy theory that Trump might be a body double. Yes, really.
Trump Hits Back and Cancels Elon’s Perks
Trump didn’t stay silent. In true Trump fashion, he fired back, claiming he personally booted Musk from his team.
Now, the president is threatening to kill Musk’s government contracts, including deals for SpaceX and Tesla.
And while Trump acknowledged they used to be “great,” he now says Elon’s just bitter about two key decisions: pulling back electric vehicle mandates (which benefited Tesla) and replacing Musk’s preferred NASA nominee, Jared Isaacman.
“Elon’s upset because we took away the EV mandate,” Trump told reporters. “They want us to pay billions in subsidies—and I said no.”
Elon Trolls Trump Live on X as Things Get Personal
While Trump was fielding questions, Musk was simultaneously live-tweeting reactions, posting a dry “Whatever” and taking aim at Trump’s prized spending package.
He mocked the bill’s branding, writing:
“In all of history, there has never been legislation that’s both big and beautiful.”
He suggested cutting EV incentives was unfair while oil and gas subsidies stayed untouched—and then things got personal.
Musk Claims Trump Owes Him the Presidency
In a bold move, Musk claimed that without his $290 million campaign donation and endorsement, Trump would’ve lost the 2024 election.
He reminded the public that he was there—after the attempted assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, on stage with Trump, helping him return to the trail and regain momentum.
Trump, however, dismissed the idea. He insisted he would’ve won Pennsylvania either way, arguing that Kamala Harris messed up by not choosing Governor Josh Shapiro as her running mate.
Musk’s response? Total disbelief.
“Without me, Dems would control the House, and the GOP would be 51-49 in the Senate.”
He added:
“Such ingratitude.”
The Age Gap Shade and a Shocking Epstein Allegation
Musk then took the feud even further—taunting Trump about his age.
“Trump has 3.5 years left. I’ll be around for 40+,” Musk said, clearly aiming for legacy points.
But it didn’t stop there. In one of the most explosive accusations, Musk implied that Trump was somehow linked to Jeffrey Epstein, claiming that’s the reason the full Epstein files haven’t been released.
“Mark this post. The truth will come out,” Musk wrote.
Trump didn’t address that one directly—just posted a half-hearted shrug on Truth Social and got back to praising his “big, beautiful bill.”
White House and GOP Split as Tensions Boil Over
As this political soap opera played out in real-time, reactions from both sides rolled in.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brushed off the whole drama, blaming Musk’s tantrum on his failure to influence the legislation.
She called the bill “historic” and doubled down on the president’s agenda.
Meanwhile, a source close to Trump reminded everyone that he had already released the Epstein files—and that Musk was well aware of the president’s past when they were still best buds.
“If Elon really believed Trump was involved, why hang around him for six months and say he loves him ‘as much as a straight man can love a straight man’?”
Republicans Start Taking Sides as Tesla Shares Tumble
With tensions still rising, Republicans began choosing their corners.
Steve Bannon went so far as to call Musk an “illegal alien” who should be deported.
House Speaker Mike Johnson tried to be the peacemaker, reportedly “trying to call Elon” as Tesla stock dropped nearly 15 percent.
What’s Next in the Trump vs. Musk Showdown?
As of now, this feud is far from over. With major legislation on the line, billions in contracts at stake, and two of the biggest egos in the country involved, we’re likely to see more twists—and tweets.
And AOC? She’s just watching it all unfold with popcorn in hand.
“Let the girls fight,” she said. And fight, they are.
