Bruno Fernandes holds talks with Al-Hilal in Riyadh as Manchester United star considers record-breaking move to Saudi Arabia

The football world is no stranger to eye-watering offers from Saudi Arabia lately—and now, Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes might be the latest star heading that way.

As United look to balance their financial books, Fernandes’ name has suddenly popped up in the transfer conversation.

And if the latest developments are anything to go by, things might be moving faster than fans expect.

Massive Money Talks in Riyadh

This past week, Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, met with officials from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.

Sources close to the meeting described the vibe as “positive,” hinting that something big could be brewing.

Al-Hilal have reportedly put a staggering offer on the table: a tax-free salary that would quadruple Fernandes’ current weekly earnings of £280,000 to an incredible £700,000.

Over the span of three years—bonuses included—the full package could be worth up to £200 million.

Manchester United Still Holding On

Despite all the buzz, Manchester United are digging in their heels.

The club has made it clear they don’t want to sell their midfield star.

But with finances under scrutiny and Fernandes himself recently admitting that a sale might be needed to help the club’s bottom line, the situation feels increasingly fluid.

If Fernandes gives the green light, Al-Hilal are expected to submit a formal bid in the ballpark of £100 million.

A Fellow Countryman Weighs In

Adding to the intrigue is a little nudge from someone who’s already made the move—fellow Portuguese star Ruben Neves.

Neves, who joined Al-Hilal from Wolves two years ago, currently lines up next to Fernandes for Portugal’s national team. And he’d love to reunite in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking to A Bola, Neves said:
“I recommend all the players in the national team, of course.

Fortunately, Portugal has produced a lot of talent and continues to do so. We are a lucky country in that respect.”

Portugal’s Talent Pipeline Keeps Flowing

Neves also took a moment to highlight how proud he is of Portugal’s football success, referencing how players like Gonçalo Ramos, João Neves, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha all lifted the Champions League trophy just recently.

“It’s an excellent sign for Portugal,” he said.

“I would like to have any player from the national team in my team.”

What Comes Next for Fernandes?

The ball now seems to be in Fernandes’ court. He’s got a massive decision to make—stay in Manchester and continue leading United, or take the leap into a new chapter with a life-changing offer in Saudi Arabia.

With financial pressure building at United and the lure of a tax-free salary that’s hard to ignore, this summer transfer window could mark a big turning point in Fernandes’ career.
