Olivia Dunne has already become a regular at ballparks, especially at PNC Park where she cheers on her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.
But this time, it was her turn to step onto the field.
On a crisp Monday night in New York City, Dunne made a special appearance at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, just before the Mets faced off against Skenes’ Pirates.
The evening was set to be memorable, with Dunne not just watching the game, but also throwing the first pitch.
A Group of Sports Icons
Dunne wasn’t alone for her trip to the ballpark. Joining her were three fellow Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models: Camille Kostek, Alexandra “Xandra” Pohl, and Ellie Thumann.
Each of these women brings their own unique flair to the world of sports and fashion.
Kostek, who has been a regular in the SI Swimsuit issue since 2017, wore a Mets jersey along with Pohl and Thumann, both of whom sported jerseys with their names on the back.
Dunne, ever respectful of her boyfriend’s team, kept it simple in a white top and Mets cap.
The Selfie Moment and VIP Treatment
While the group snapped pictures with Mets players like Mark Vientos and Tyrone Taylor, Dunne stayed a little more low-key, choosing not to join in the player photos.
However, she did join her friends for a selfie on the field, capturing the fun moment in Queens.
Later, Dunne was spotted filming a video from what looked like a suite at Citi Field, soaking in the picturesque May evening in New York.
A Night of Glamour and Baseball
All four women have made waves in their respective fields.
Dunne, a rising star in the world of modeling, made her debut in the 2023 SI Swimsuit issue, joining the ranks of other established models like Kostek.
Kostek, who has been featured in the SI Swimsuit edition since 2017, even graced the cover in 2019.
Both women are no strangers to the world of sports, with Kostek famously dating former NFL star Rob Gronkowski.
Pohl, a world-renowned DJ, and Thumann, a social media sensation with millions of followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, round out the powerhouse group.
A Tough Game for Skenes and the Pirates
Back to the baseball game itself, it was a tough night for Skenes.
Although he pitched brilliantly, allowing just one earned run over six innings while striking out six batters, his team couldn’t hold the lead.
The Pirates’ bullpen gave up two runs in the seventh inning, which turned the tide in favor of the Mets. The game came down to a couple of errors in the final innings.
Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor made a fielding error that allowed Ji-Hwan Bae to advance to second base.
Bae later scored on an infield single by Kebryan Hayes, tying the game at 3-3.
Then, the Pirates made a costly error of their own. Shortstop Isaiah Kiner-Falefa’s mistake allowed Lindor to reach first base.
A Juan Soto single moved Lindor to third, and ultimately, a sacrifice fly by Mets’ first baseman Pete Alonso brought Lindor home, securing the Mets a 4-3 win.
Mets Take the Victory
In the end, the Mets took the win, with reliever Huascar Brazoban credited for the victory, and Pirates’ closer David Bednar taking the loss.
The Mets’ victory extended their impressive record to 27-15, putting them comfortably at the top of the NL East, ahead by two and a half games.
Meanwhile, the Pirates, still struggling in the NL Central, found themselves ten games behind the leading team.
A Memorable Evening for Livvy Dunne
While the night ended in disappointment for Skenes and the Pirates, it was still a night to remember for Dunne, who got to enjoy the game, the glamour of the event, and the chance to step into the spotlight at one of baseball’s most iconic stadiums.
