Stephanie Davis opens up about terrifying moments her baby son stopped breathing twice and was rushed to hospital in Liverpool

Stephanie Davis, the beloved Coronation Street actress, has shared the deeply emotional and frightening experience she endured after her two-month-old son, Samuel, was rushed to the hospital twice for breathing episodes.

The star has candidly described the ordeal as one of the most terrifying moments of her life.

In an emotional post on her social media, Stephanie revealed the anxiety-filled nights she spent watching over her son, who was left struggling after experiencing multiple health scares.

The Scary Moments That Changed Everything

Samuel, who she shares with boyfriend Joe McKalroy, faced a frightening health crisis when he stopped breathing on two separate occasions.

Stephanie took to Instagram to explain how her world was turned upside down, describing the events as the “scariest time of my life.”

The young mother revealed that Samuel had suffered three distinct episodes that led to multiple trips to the hospital.

“I’ve been watching him like a hawk,” she shared with her followers, describing how anxious she has been ever since the health scare.

A Silent Battle and Emotional Toll

Despite the anxiety, Stephanie admitted she has kept a low profile on social media over the past few weeks.

She revealed, “Mum life is so busy you literally don’t get a minute, let alone to post!” She also spoke about how the experience had affected her physically and mentally.

The actress confessed to spending many sleepless nights, jumping awake in fear, overwhelmed by the dread of what could happen next.

Stephanie continued to reflect on how difficult it was to get proper photos of her children, saying that most of her camera roll is filled with photos of others with her children, but not one of her with them.

“Don’t you find you have a camera roll filled with photos of everyone else with your children and none of them with you?” she wrote.

Her vulnerability on social media resonated with many parents who’ve gone through similar frightening experiences.

The Terrifying Moment Samuel Stopped Breathing

The terrifying moments began when Stephanie was attending a baby sensory class with Samuel.

Out of nowhere, the tiny baby began foaming at the mouth and struggled to breathe, leading to immediate panic.

She recalled the sense of helplessness she felt in that moment: “It’s honestly torture,” she said.

Two women who worked at the hospital rushed to help and called for an ambulance, a gesture Stephanie described as a life-saving act.

Enduring Pain for Her Little One

Samuel’s medical journey didn’t stop at the hospital visit.

He underwent two lumbar punctures, a procedure meant to analyze cerebrospinal fluid, and endured numerous tests, including scans of his head and lungs.

Stephanie shared her devastation as she saw her baby go through such painful procedures, saying, “Poor baby has had two lumbar punctures and all sorts done to him to get to the bottom of it all.”

She continued, expressing the pain of watching her baby struggle: “It’s been an absolutely horrendous & traumatic time.”

But despite the emotional toll, she acknowledged the medical staff’s efforts and thanked them for everything they did to help Samuel.

“I know they have done everything they can to make sure he’s okay.”

Coping With Anxiety and Support from the NHS

Throughout this emotional rollercoaster, Stephanie’s anxiety has been through the roof.

She spoke about how mentally and physically draining the experience has been, admitting she feels like she’s gone into “autopilot” mode just to get through the days.

Reflecting on the experience, she said, “I’ve thought about those mums who have poorly babies in hospital for a long time, and I honestly don’t know how you do it.”

She also expressed deep gratitude for the NHS and the medical team who took care of Samuel.

“I’m so grateful for the NHS & how utterly amazing and caring the staff have been,” she wrote, showing her appreciation for the support she received.

A Difficult Birth and Fertility Journey

Stephanie had already gone through a traumatic birth in January when Samuel was born, an event that she and Joe have described as challenging.

Her partner, Joe, also shared his emotions on social media, expressing his love for their newborn and honoring the memory of Samuel’s late uncle.

In addition to this, Stephanie opened up about her long journey to become pregnant with Samuel.

She had suffered a miscarriage in 2021 and had been trying to conceive for two years before finally falling pregnant naturally.

Reflecting on the struggles, she shared how emotional it was for her and Joe to finally receive the news they were expecting.

“We were just sobbing on each other,” she recalled.

Support and Family Bonds

Stephanie also took a moment to thank her own family for their unwavering support.

“I couldn’t love you more,” she told Joe, acknowledging the role he played in helping her through those tough times.

The couple’s love and the support they share for one another have been crucial during such a challenging period.

With everything that has happened, Stephanie has expressed her deep appreciation for her family, her faith, and the healthcare workers who have helped her navigate this incredibly difficult time.

As she continues to watch over her son, her focus is on his recovery, and she remains hopeful for the future.
