Manchester United’s summer plans are beginning to take shape, with manager Ruben Amorim already focused on potential signings and exits.
The club’s connection with Wolves striker Matheus Cunha has been a hot topic recently, and Amorim seems to be carefully navigating the situation.
Despite speculation about a £62.5 million move, he’s choosing to keep quiet for now.
United’s Appeal to Potential Signings
Amorim shared his belief that “every player wants to play for Manchester United,” which comes as no surprise given the club’s prestigious reputation.
Even amidst a challenging season—marked by coaching changes, staffing issues, and fluctuating results—the allure of Old Trafford remains strong.
“I know that if you look at our club right now—considering all the problems with the staff, people leaving, changing coaches, and the results—it might seem like a bit of a mess,” Amorim explained.
“But we have a clear idea of where we are heading.
That is the easiest part to explain to a player. And then it’s Manchester United.
Everybody wants to play for Manchester United.”
Matheus Cunha: No Comment Yet
While United’s pursuit of Cunha is well-known, Amorim declined to comment on the striker’s future at this time.
When asked about the deal, he made it clear he would avoid discussing any potential transfers.
“I won’t say anything about Matheus,” Amorim remarked.
“If I say something now, I’d have to give a definitive yes or no, and that’s not something I want to do.
It’s tough to predict what will happen in the future.”
Despite his reluctance to reveal specifics, the interest in Cunha is certainly there, and United fans are eager to see how the situation unfolds.
Loaned Players and Potential Departures
Turning his attention to players currently out on loan, Amorim expressed satisfaction with how Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia have been performing.
“We are really happy with how they’re doing,” he said.
“The best outcome when a player is loaned out is for them to perform well, and that’s exactly what’s happening.”
As for the summer transfer window, Amorim hinted that he already has a strong idea about which players might be on their way out.
However, he’s leaving room for surprises, citing Casemiro as an example. “Everything can happen,” Amorim noted. “Casemiro is the best example.
He wasn’t playing, but then you see his recent performances, and he’s been fantastic. If players change my mind, I like that.”
Upcoming Fixtures and Injury Concerns
Looking ahead, United has an important match against Bournemouth on Sunday, hoping to climb higher in the standings and avoid injuries before their Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.
Amorim confirmed that Diogo Dalot, who has been a consistent presence this season, may not feature again due to a calf strain.
With the season winding down, every match is crucial, and Amorim will be hoping for a strong finish.
As United prepares for the final stretch of the season, all eyes will be on Amorim’s transfer decisions and the potential reshaping of the squad for the future.
