With the NBA playoffs just around the corner, Houston Rockets star Jalen Green has decided to block out the noise—literally.
Instead of just tuning out the chatter, the 23-year-old shooting guard took a bold step by deactivating his social media accounts, and he made it clear it had everything to do with protecting his girlfriend.
“Leave My Girl Out of It,” Green Says Before Signing Off
In a now-circulating screenshot from his account, Green reportedly wrote, “.. leave my girl out it im deactivating my shi for playoffs.”
That message was loud and clear to fans who’ve been all over his relationship with 40-year-old influencer and reality TV personality Draya Michele.
The two started dating in the summer of 2023, and their 17-year age difference has been a hot topic ever since.
But Green’s move signals that he’s had enough of the judgment and online commentary—and he’s choosing focus over distractions as his team heads into postseason action.
A Relationship That’s Always in the Spotlight
Draya Michele, best known from Basketball Wives LA, is no stranger to public attention.
She has two sons—22-year-old Kniko and 9-year-old Jrue, the latter shared with former NFL player Orlando Scandrick.
Fans raised eyebrows late last year when Michele brought her oldest son to a Rockets game—considering Kniko is just one year younger than Green.
But despite the online noise, the couple has remained steady.
Michele’s dating history includes celebrities like Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, and NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor, so she’s no stranger to being in high-profile relationships either.
Jalen Green’s Growing Family Adds Another Layer
Green’s personal life became even more complicated last year when it was revealed that he had fathered a daughter, Moira, born in February 2024, with California student Myah Iakopo.
Though Green and Iakopo weren’t in a serious relationship, sources say there’s no bad blood between her and Michele.
Apparently, Iakopo is only concerned about co-parenting and isn’t bothered by Green’s current relationship.
To add to that, Green and Michele welcomed their own baby girl just a few months after Moira’s birth—making headlines yet again.
Michele’s Legal Battle With Ex Tyrod Taylor Adds More Drama
While Michele continues navigating her relationship with Green and motherhood, she’s also been locked in a legal fight with ex-boyfriend Tyrod Taylor.
Last winter, reports surfaced that Taylor had allegedly called the police to evict Michele and her kids from the mansion they once shared.
According to a November 2024 filing, Michele claimed Taylor had backed out of an informal agreement to sell the property to her for $3.2 million.
Things escalated when her children’s nanny called her during a business trip, saying sheriffs had shown up to lock them out of the home.
Eyes on the Playoffs as Rockets Face the Warriors
Now, Green is turning his full attention to basketball.
The Rockets are preparing to take on the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs, with Game 1 tipping off Sunday in Houston.
“This is what I’ve dreamed about since I got in the league,” Green told the Houston Chronicle.
“Really, since I was young… everything’s been a lot more serious.”
Green, who was drafted second overall in 2021, has been instrumental in ending Houston’s playoff drought.
As the team’s leading scorer, all eyes are on him—not just for his game, but for how he handles the pressure on and off the court.
