Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that Russia and the United States are preparing for another expert-level meeting.
This upcoming meeting follows a similar one that took place in February in Istanbul.
The discussions are set to continue amidst ongoing efforts to address global issues, particularly the conflict in Ukraine.
Continued Communication and Progress
Lavrov shared that communication between the two countries remains steady, with phone calls and video conferences taking place regularly.
He mentioned that some progress has been made, though he stressed that negotiations require more than just discussions.
For the talks to yield meaningful results, Lavrov emphasized the need for concrete decisions, rather than vague promises.
Focus on Black Sea Initiative and Proposals
One key issue on the table is the Black Sea Initiative, which Lavrov hopes to see resumed.
However, he pointed out that a successful outcome hinges on the US reviewing a list of proposals that Moscow has presented.
While the talks continue, both sides are working on finding common ground to address pressing global matters.
Efforts on Ukraine and the Long Road Ahead
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also spoke about the ongoing negotiations related to the conflict in Ukraine, noting that more time and effort would be required to reach a resolution.
While the discussions are far from over, both Moscow and Washington remain engaged in the complex and challenging process of diplomacy.
