A heartbreaking tragedy has left a family grieving after a devastating car crash claimed the life of nine-year-old Zac Roe.
His mother, Barbara Roe, 39, has admitted to causing his death by dangerous driving.
The fatal collision, which occurred on March 25 of last year, involved her Citroën DS9 veering into a van and a cattle transporter on the A354 near East Woodyates, Dorset.
Court Proceedings and Guilty Plea
Appearing at Bournemouth Crown Court, Roe pleaded guilty to the charge and now faces sentencing.
The court has imposed an interim driving ban on her, and she has been released on conditional bail with strict terms, including no contact with her husband or mother-in-law.
A pre-sentence report has been ordered, and the final sentencing will take place on May 2.
A Father’s Heartbreaking Tribute
Zac’s father, Josh Roe, expressed the unbearable pain of losing his son, calling him his “little angel” and “best buddy.”
His words reflected the depth of his grief, emphasizing how irreplaceable his child was in his life.
Zac’s grandfather, Chris Roe, also shared an emotional tribute, recalling the beautiful memories they made together in the boy’s short life.
He described Zac’s laughter as something that will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him, ensuring his memory will never fade.
Legal Considerations and Future Sentencing
During the court proceedings, defense attorney Charles Gabb highlighted a psychiatric report that provides significant details about Roe’s mental state.
Judge William Mousley KC made it clear that Roe must attend her sentencing hearing, warning that failure to appear could lead to further legal consequences.
As the legal process continues, the tragic loss of Zac remains at the forefront, leaving a devastated family to cope with unimaginable grief.
The final sentencing on May 2 will determine the legal repercussions for Roe, but nothing can undo the sorrow felt by those who loved Zac.
