Georgia Horsley, wife of McFly’s Danny Jones, has revealed an amusing detail about the early days of their relationship.
According to Georgia, it took Danny an entire year to convince her to go on a date with him.
She admitted that at the time, she thought of him as ‘a top shagger,’ which made her hesitant to consider him seriously.
Georgia’s Initial Impression of Danny
Georgia, now 38, met Danny back in 2008, but she wasn’t immediately taken by him.
In fact, she once thought of the musician as a typical rock star.
Speaking on the Never Have I Ever podcast in November 2024, Georgia explained that when Danny first asked her out, he mentioned he already had “two other dates lined up.”
She admitted to thinking, “He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him.”
Although Danny was clearly keen to pursue her, Georgia was less enthusiastic.
She jokingly shared, “He wanted me for a year.”
Despite her initial disinterest, Georgia’s mother encouraged her to give Danny a chance, telling her, “Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.”
The Stereotypical Musician and a Shift in Perspective
At the time, Georgia assumed Danny was just another “top shagger,” a stereotype she had in mind for musicians.
She admitted that she “treated him mean, kept him keen” without fully realizing it.
But despite the rocky start, she finally agreed to go on a date with him in 2009.
The couple got engaged in 2013, and now share a son, Cooper, who is seven.
Controversial Kiss at the BRITs Afterparty Raises Questions
This week, Danny found himself in the middle of a cheating scandal after a video surfaced showing him sharing a drunken kiss with Love Island star Maura Higgins at the Universal Music BRIT Awards afterparty.
The kiss has since raised questions about his ten-year marriage to Georgia.
Reports revealed that Danny and Maura spent the evening together in a cozy booth, and video footage later showed the pair getting quite close at the event.
Danny Jokes About Leaving His Wife
Before the kiss scandal, Danny had made light of his relationship with Georgia in a podcast interview.
On the Parenting Hell podcast, Danny joked about leaving his wife just days before the BRITs incident.
While discussing a stressful house move he had undertaken during his time on I’m A Celeb, Danny quipped, “I left my wife to move house.”
His comments were met with laughter from the hosts, Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe, who joked about Danny using the show as an excuse to escape from his renovation woes.
However, Danny clarified, saying he was surprised his wife was still with him, as she had handled the house move entirely on her own while he was away.
Awaiting Comments from Maura and Danny’s Representatives
As of now, representatives for both Maura and Danny have been contacted for comments, though no response has been given at the time of publication.
