Despite Kaizer Chiefs’ recent 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, coach Nasreddine Nabi has made it clear that he remains fully committed to the club.

The 59-year-old Tunisian coach, who took over the reins at Chiefs in July after leaving AS FAR, emphasized that he has no intention of leaving, despite facing challenges in his early tenure.

Nabi Stays Loyal Despite Offers

After the defeat to Sundowns, Nabi shared his dedication to the club, stating that his passion for the team and the project keeps him rooted. “I’m not here for money.

I sometimes get offers that pay three times more than what I earn here, but I love this club, I love the project,” he said.

He also expressed how difficult it is to face criticism from his colleagues.

Reflecting on the Game and Performance

While the defeat was hard to take, Nabi maintained an optimistic view on his team’s performance.

“It’s a game we will leave with some regrets.

We believe we did enough to cause problems for our opponents, and we created opportunities,” he said.

Although his team controlled much of the second half, he acknowledged that in football, creating chances is only half the battle—scoring is the key.

Despite the loss, Nabi felt that his team deserved at least a draw given their effort on the field.

Looking Ahead with Optimism

With 11 matches remaining in the season, Nabi remains confident that Kaizer Chiefs can finish the campaign strong.

“We know we lost points today, but we have to go back, regroup, and push ourselves for the next game,” he said.

He highlighted that while their current position on the league table doesn’t reflect their performance, he believes the standings are temporary and his team will finish much higher.

Nabi Chooses Chiefs Over National Role

Last month, it was revealed that Nabi had turned down an offer to coach the Tunisian national team, choosing instead to continue his work with Kaizer Chiefs.

His decision to stay with the club further demonstrates his commitment to their long-term success.
