Authorities in Hertfordshire are asking for the public’s help after a tragic incident involving a pedestrian and a pick-up truck.
The accident occurred on High Road in Wormley on Tuesday evening, leading to the death of a woman at the scene.
Collision Details and Response
Emergency services were dispatched to the area around 6:30 PM on Tuesday following reports of a collision between a white Mitsubishi pick-up truck and a female pedestrian.
Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the scene shortly after the accident.
Ongoing Investigation and Road Closures
In the aftermath of the incident, police have closed High Road, and they anticipate the road will remain shut until early Friday morning.
Motorists are being advised to avoid the area as traffic has been severely impacted.
Additionally, the nearby A10 is closed due to ongoing roadworks, exacerbating the traffic congestion in the region.
Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage of the collision to come forward.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police stated, “We’re appealing for dash cam footage and witnesses to the collision on High Road, Wormley.
The woman tragically lost her life, and we need as much information as possible to assist with our investigation.”
Travel Disruptions and Public Advisory
With the road closures and construction affecting the flow of traffic, police are asking drivers to avoid traveling through the area if possible.
The closures are expected to cause further delays, especially during the evening rush hours, and the force continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death
