In an exciting partnership with Mastercard Foundation and various universities across Africa, the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is offering the Mastercard TAGDev Scholarship.
This initiative is designed to help transform African agricultural universities and technical institutions to play a key role in Africa’s growth and development.
Strengthening African Institutions and Empowering Youth
The goal of the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) program is to build stronger universities and technical vocational education and training (TVET) institutions.
These institutions will be better equipped to empower Africa’s youth with the skills needed for climate-resilient and inclusive agricultural transformation.
This program focuses on providing young students with the tools they need to drive change in agriculture and agrifood systems.
Supporting Academically Capable, Economically Disadvantaged Students
TAGDev 2.0 seeks to support economically disadvantaged yet academically competent students by helping them complete their studies.
The scholarship provides essential financial support for young Africans, enabling them to pursue their education and contribute to the continent’s agricultural progress.
Eligibility
To apply for the TAGDev Scholarship, applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria, which will be outlined in detail in the official program guidelines.
This initiative is a step forward in addressing the challenges young Africans face when accessing quality education, particularly in the agricultural sector.
It holds the promise of a brighter future for both the students and the continent as a whole.
