Though Ash-Ley Ogle has moved on from her time on Big Brother Mzansi, she’s been met with overwhelming support from fans since her unexpected eviction.
The 26-year-old reality star, who was a standout contestant on Season 5, has turned to a GoFundMe campaign to help rebuild her life post-show, and it’s been met with an outpouring of kindness from her supporters.
Fans Rally Behind Ash-Ley With Generous Donations
After her eviction from Big Brother, Ash-Ley decided to set up a GoFundMe campaign to help her get back on her feet.
Unlike the typical fan-voted eliminations, Ash-Ley’s exit came as a result of a peer vote.
She was tied with contestant Nsuku, and the tie-breaker decision to evict her was made by the Head of House, Swiss.
In her GoFundMe statement, Ash-Ley shared how her eviction cut her journey short and explained how her supporters around the world wanted to help her recover and build her future.
“People who support her all over the world would like to pool in resources to help her build her life back up,” the statement read.
Since launching the campaign, Ash-Ley has raised an impressive R150,000, thanks to 282 generous donations.
The largest single donation so far is R11,000, given anonymously.
However, her goal of R900,000 is still a long way off, and her supporters continue to rally behind her.
Surprising Exit Ends Ash-Ley’s Big Brother Journey
Ash-Ley’s dream of winning the R2 million prize came to a sudden end with an unexpected eviction.
The contestants were asked to vote for the housemate they wanted to send home, and the result ended in a tie between Ash-Ley and Nsuku.
Swiss, the Head of House, ultimately chose Ash-Ley to leave the house, abruptly ending her run.
Despite her early exit, Ash-Ley has expressed nothing but gratitude for her time on the show.
Reflecting on her experience, she told IOL, “It kept on surprising me from the time I submitted my audition video up until the day I left the house.
It was full of surprises because, at first, I didn’t think I was going to get in.
I didn’t even think my audition video was good enough.”
