Kari Lake Responds to Tensions Between MAGA Allies Steve Bannon and Elon Musk at CPAC in February 2025

Kari Lake is not letting the recent drama surrounding Trump’s most loyal supporters faze her.

In a candid conversation with Daily Mail’s Welcome to MAGAland podcast, Lake shared her thoughts on the ongoing tension between prominent MAGA figures, including Steve Bannon and Elon Musk.

When asked about the friction among Trump allies, particularly after Bannon called Musk a “parasitic illegal migrant,” Lake brushed it off.

“I don’t pay attention to that,” she said during an appearance at the CPAC conference. “I just don’t spend any of my energy on that.

I know deep down there’s respect going both ways there.”

Lake went on to describe both Bannon and Musk as “patriots” who respect each other and have much to contribute to Trump’s administration.

Kari Lake’s Stance on Future Political Aspirations

Lake, who has taken on the role of overseeing the Voice of America for Trump, also shared her stance on ever running for office again.

After losing the race for Arizona governor in 2022, she revealed that she has no interest in returning to politics.

“Arizona is very corrupt… We need to eliminate corruption in the courts, corruption in our elections,” she told the podcast hosts.

“I wouldn’t dare run for office again with our election system the way it is,” she added, expressing deep mistrust in the electoral process in her home state.

Tensions at CPAC and Bannon’s Controversial Gesture

At the CPAC event, Lake wasn’t the only one making headlines.

Steve Bannon, who also spoke at the conference, addressed accusations that he had performed a Nazi salute during his speech.

He quickly denied the claim, explaining to Daily Mail’s podcast that all he did was “wave to the crowd.”

Bannon claimed the left-wing media was unfairly targeting him and the MAGA crowd, accusing them of trying to discredit the movement.

“These people can’t be bought, they can’t be defeated,” he said, clearly frustrated with the criticism.

He also denied that the gesture was directed at Musk, with whom he’s had public feuds in recent months.

Elon Musk Denies Nazi Salute Amid Controversy

Elon Musk also found himself caught up in a similar controversy.

The Tesla CEO, who has become one of Trump’s trusted advisers, was accused of performing a Nazi salute at a speech marking Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Musk responded by blasting his critics, calling their accusations “dirty tricks.”

Despite the backlash, Bannon praised Musk’s support for Dogecoin and his push to reduce government interference.

“DOGE is on fire,” Bannon said, adding that he supported Musk in his efforts to cut down on government influence, even though he opposed Musk’s views on other topics like transhumanism.

The Controversy Around Bannon’s Gesture at CPAC

Bannon’s gesture at CPAC last week stirred more controversy.

As his speech neared its end, he made a quick movement, extending his arm to the side after urging the crowd to “fight, fight, fight” for the country and Trump’s agenda.

While some saw it as a symbolic gesture of defiance, others were quick to criticize him for the similarity to a Nazi salute.

The incident sparked outrage, but Bannon remained defiant, continuing to dismiss the accusations as a media fabrication.

Despite the controversy, the tensions between him, Musk, and the broader MAGA movement appear far from being resolved.
