A remote and picturesque location in Scotland, famously featured in the classic 90s film Trainspotting, will soon become the setting for a unique summer event.
Corrour, one of the country’s most isolated railway stations, will be the backdrop for a naturist retreat organized by British Naturism, the UK’s largest naturist organization.
The retreat, scheduled for the beginning of June, will offer a “Scottish Highland Adventure” where participants will spend most of the weekend in the nude, embracing nature and the freedom of the outdoors.
A Remote and Idyllic Setting for Naturist Activities
Corrour Station, located 17 miles from the nearest public road, is typically visited by hikers.
During the retreat, about 20 members of the naturist group will stay at the Loch Ossian hostel, which offers exclusive access to the surrounding hills and tracks, perfect for naturist walking.
The area is also rich in lochs and rivers, providing opportunities for skinny dipping.
According to British Naturism, the secluded location allows for complete freedom in the area, as guests can walk, swim, and relax throughout the grounds in their natural state.
With the hostel’s proximity to Loch Ossian, attendees will even have direct access for swimming without needing to cover up.
Booking and Accommodation Options for Attendees
The weekend event, which runs for three nights, has seen the bunk bed berths quickly sell out, priced at £135 per person.
For those looking for a more adventurous experience, there is the option to wild camp.
Alternatively, for those seeking a little more luxury, the boutique Victorian signal box at Corrour Station is available for £660 per couple.
The price for the weekend includes accommodation and a three-course meal, where clothing will be optional.
This is certainly an event for those looking to connect with nature in a completely unique way.
A Famous Location with a Film Connection
Corrour Station holds a special place in film history, having been featured in Trainspotting.
The scene shows the characters, including Tommy, Spud, Sick Boy, and Renton, escaping from the gritty streets of 1980s Edinburgh for a trip to the tranquil countryside.
Now, it’s about to host a very different kind of group, one seeking relaxation and freedom in nature.
Public Nudity in Scotland and Legal Guidelines
While public nudity is not a criminal offence in Scotland, there are certain guidelines to consider.
If a person’s nudity causes alarm or distress to others, they could be charged with a breach of the peace.
However, according to Police Scotland, if there is no disorderly conduct or clear sexual intent, authorities are generally advised not to take action.
British Naturism currently has around 700 members in Scotland, and this retreat marks another step in the growing popularity of naturist activities across the country.
