Olly Murs Cancels Dubai Concert Hours Before Show Due to Sudden Throat Infection and Apologizes to Fans

Just hours before he was set to perform, Olly Murs had to cancel his highly anticipated show in Dubai.

The 40-year-old singer was supposed to take the stage at Bla Bla Dubai on Friday night, but unfortunately, he had to pull out due to a throat infection.

Olly shared his heartfelt apology on Instagram, telling fans: “To everyone here in Dubai, unfortunately, due to doctor’s orders, I am having to cancel tonight’s show at Bla-Bla because of a throat infection. I’m so gutted.

I look forward to coming back ASAP and will share new date information as soon as I can! Olly x.”

A Candid Update

The following morning, Olly posted a selfie that showed how unwell he was feeling, captioning it: “A man with a broken voice.

Gutted Dubai, I’ll be back.” This wasn’t the first time the singer had to cancel a show unexpectedly.

Back in May, Olly couldn’t perform at a Take That concert in Glasgow, just minutes before showtime.

His flight from Heathrow had been delayed multiple times and, eventually, canceled.

Olly had to travel by car all the way to Scotland to make it in time for the next two shows, while a local hotel guest was pulled in to replace him last minute.

Exciting Career Move for Olly

On a brighter note, Olly recently announced some exciting news about his career.

He’s joining his close friend and Heart Radio presenter Mark Wright for a brand-new Saturday Breakfast show starting March 1.

The show will air from 9 am to 12 pm, a shift from Mark’s usual afternoon slot.

Mark shared his excitement, saying: “It’s not every day that you get to work with your mate, and I just can’t wait for Olly to join Heart.

I just know our listeners are going to love listening to Olly every Saturday morning, and we promise to bring you all the good laughs, fun, and banter!”

Looking Ahead to the Show

Olly also shared his own excitement about the new venture: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be sharing my Saturday mornings with Wrighty and the Heart listeners.

They’ve actually given us our own radio show – can you believe it?! We have such a laugh off-air, so I know we’ll have a great time doing this together.

Expect plenty of banter, big entertainment, and obviously a bit of healthy competition. Can’t wait!!”

Heart Radio’s Managing Editor, Richard Steel, also expressed enthusiasm: “We’re so excited to officially welcome Olly to Heart! He’s already a great friend of the station, and I know our listeners are going to love him on the radio.

Olly and Mark have such an infectious energy together, it’s the perfect way to start the weekend!”

A Lighthearted Announcement

Mark and Olly took to Instagram to share the news in a fun and humorous clip.

In the video, the two joked about what to call the new show, playfully debating whether Olly or Mark’s name should come first in the title.

Fans were quick to react, with many excitedly predicting “double trouble” for the show, knowing it will be full of laughs and good vibes.
