Police Launch Manhunt for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Left Woman Injured and Dog Dead in Yeovil on February 1

A tragic hit-and-run incident in Yeovil has left a woman in her 30s injured and her dog fatally hurt.

The horrifying event took place on a busy road in Somerset on the morning of February 1.

The woman, who had been out for a run with her pet, was struck by a car that failed to stop at the scene.

The Shocking Incident on Coombe Street Lane

The collision occurred just after 6 a.m. on Coombe Street Lane when the car, traveling at speed, hit the woman and her dog.

While the woman managed to survive with only minor injuries, she had to be rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, her dog suffered severe injuries and had to be put down.

Police Launch Search for Driver Involved in the Hit-and-Run

Avon and Somerset Police have now launched a manhunt for the driver responsible for the hit-and-run.

In a statement, the police called on anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.

The authorities are particularly keen to hear from witnesses who may have seen the car or the incident itself.

The police said in their appeal: “Officers investigating the collision are asking anyone who saw the incident or who has any information, including footage, to get in touch.

The car involved in the incident left the scene without stopping to assist.”
