Robert Marawa has claimed to know the reason behind Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng’s mysterious absence from the field.
The 51-year-old sports personality hinted at some behind-the-scenes drama and expressed his intention to reveal all.
Marawa Teases Big Reveal
On his X account, Marawa stated, “We have the story, but we’re giving the club 48 hours to address their fans on the matter. Otherwise, we will.”
This bold statement has left fans and the media buzzing with speculation about what is really going on with Saleng.
Saleng’s Recent Absence
The last time Monnapule Saleng was seen on the pitch was during Orlando Pirates’ goalless draw against Al Ahly in December 2024, during the CAF Champions League group stages.
Since then, his absence has raised eyebrows, especially considering his stellar performance in the 2022-2023 season.
Saleng’s Declining Form
Saleng had an impressive season in 2022-2023, scoring 15 goals and assisting 11 across all competitions.
However, much like many talented players, he has struggled to maintain that high level of performance.
Some may even compare his recent dip in form to that of footballers like World Cup winner Mesut Özil, who also saw a decline after reaching his peak years ago.
Orlando Pirates’ Upcoming Match
Orlando Pirates were initially scheduled to face Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening at 19:30, but the match has been postponed.
The team’s next big game is set for Saturday, February 22, against Cape Town City.
Unfortunately, the Pirates will be without influential midfielder Makhehlene Makhaula, who will miss the match due to a suspension from accumulating four yellow cards.
