“Those conversations happen when you start seeing signs in training camp,” Hearn explained.
“If a fighter isn’t sharp, struggles with injuries, or gets hurt in sparring, that’s when the team has to step in.
But AJ’s last camp was strong.
He was in great shape and sharp leading into the Dubois fight, so retirement isn’t on the table right now.”

His next move hinges on an upcoming showdown between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker, set for February 22 in Saudi Arabia.

“If that means fighting Dubois again, no problem. If it’s Joseph Parker, no problem,” Hearn said.
