Anthony Joshua remains focused on redemption as Eddie Hearn reveals the heavyweight champion’s next opponent will be decided after Saudi Arabia showdown

Anthony Joshua has faced some tough moments in the ring over the past few years.

From back-to-back losses against Oleksandr Usyk to his devastating knockout by Daniel Dubois, the road to reclaiming his status as a heavyweight champion has been anything but smooth.

His defeat to Dubois last September at Wembley, where he lost the IBF heavyweight title, left many questioning whether AJ still has what it takes to dominate the sport.

Retirement or Redemption? Hearn Weighs In

With every setback, the whispers of retirement grow louder.

Joshua’s longtime promoter, Eddie Hearn, knows that day will come—but not yet.

Addressing the speculation, Hearn made it clear that Joshua isn’t walking away from boxing anytime soon.

“Those conversations happen when you start seeing signs in training camp,” Hearn explained.

“If a fighter isn’t sharp, struggles with injuries, or gets hurt in sparring, that’s when the team has to step in.

But AJ’s last camp was strong.

He was in great shape and sharp leading into the Dubois fight, so retirement isn’t on the table right now.”

The Road to the Next Fight

So, if retirement isn’t happening yet, what’s next for Joshua?

His next move hinges on an upcoming showdown between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker, set for February 22 in Saudi Arabia.

The plan? Joshua wants the winner.

With Tyson Fury now retired, Hearn confirmed that AJ’s top priority is another shot at the world heavyweight title.

“If that means fighting Dubois again, no problem. If it’s Joseph Parker, no problem,” Hearn said.

Eyes on the Future

For now, Joshua and his team are watching and waiting.

The outcome of Dubois vs. Parker will determine his next opponent, and another major fight could be on the horizon.

While retirement may be inevitable down the road, AJ is far from finished.

His journey back to the top is still in motion, and fans are eager to see if he can reclaim his former glory.
