Rose, who had been battling Parkinson’s disease for several years, passed away due to complications from the illness.

Born in Brighton Beach in 1937, Marshall Rose was a proud New Yorker.

He was well-educated, earning a degree in economics from City College and a law degree from NYU, later receiving an honorary degree from CUNY.

Rose made a name for himself as a real estate developer and was the founder of The Georgetown Company in 1978.

The company played a major role in developing notable projects like Frank Gehry’s IAC building and the renovation of Madison Square Garden.

Beyond his business achievements, Rose was also a committed philanthropist, serving on the board of the New York Public Library for three decades and supporting various non-profit causes.

Marshall’s family described him as someone who embodied “fierce compassion, stubborn persistence,” and an unwavering dedication to his passions, including his love for the New York Knicks.

His funeral will be held at Central Synagogue in New York on Tuesday, February 18, at 12 p.m.

In addition to her television success, Bergen was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Starting Over (1979) and earned a BAFTA nomination for Gandhi (1982).
