The Baltimore Ravens are once again in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, with new troubling news about some of their players.
This time, offensive lineman Ben Cleveland has found himself in trouble after being arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) last week.
Ben Cleveland Arrested for DUI
According to TMZ Sports, Cleveland was arrested on February 12 in Milledgeville, Georgia, for allegedly driving his truck while over twice the legal limit.
In addition to the DUI charge, Cleveland was also cited for failing to maintain his lane.
When the officers pulled him over, Cleveland reportedly admitted to drinking “about 3-4 beers” at a country club before getting behind the wheel.
Cleveland, a 6-foot-6, 360-pound player, grew up in Georgia and played for the Bulldogs before being drafted by the Ravens in 2021.
This arrest adds to the series of scandals currently surrounding the team.
Allegations Against Justin Tucker Continue to Pile Up
In addition to Cleveland’s arrest, the Ravens are dealing with another scandal involving their star kicker, Justin Tucker.
On Sunday, Tucker, who is married, faced new allegations of sexual misconduct from seven more women, bringing the total number of accusers to 16.
These allegations involve incidents that reportedly occurred between 2012, Tucker’s rookie year in the NFL, and 2016.
According to the Baltimore Banner, one woman claims Tucker left what she believed to be ejaculate on the massage table, while another said he made uncomfortable eye contact during a massage while exposed.
Tucker has yet to respond to these new accusations, though he previously denied similar allegations made earlier.
Ravens’ Super Bowl Hopes Diminish Amid Controversies
Despite the team’s impressive season, the Ravens’ hopes of reaching the Super Bowl were dashed when they were defeated by the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round.
Now, with several of their players embroiled in controversy, the team’s future seems uncertain.
Head coach John Harbaugh will be at the NFL’s scouting combine next week, where it’s almost certain he will be questioned about the ongoing scandals surrounding his players.
The Ravens will need to address these issues if they hope to move forward.
