Power Outages Scheduled Across Johannesburg: What You Need to Know

Starting from Tuesday, 18 February 2025, Johannesburg will experience an eight-hour power outage in 40 different suburbs.

The outages will occur at varying times over three days, with each area affected on a different day.

These planned outages are part of essential maintenance work aimed at improving the city’s electricity network.

Why Is This Happening?

The power outages are necessary to carry out maintenance work on the electricity grid, ensuring better service in the future.

While these outages are scheduled, the electricity could be restored at any time during the outage window. Therefore, residents are advised to treat all electrical points as live during these periods.
