“South African teams have been tremendously successful in terms of both performance and attendance, as well as financially and commercially,” Anayi shared.

“More than half of our revenue comes from South Africa, through television and sponsorship deals.

They’ve also added significant value to European rugby through Investec’s sponsorship of the Champions Cup. South Africa plays a massive role in the rugby economy,” he said.b
