URC’s Financial Impact in South Africa

The impact of South African clubs in the URC is undeniable, and URC boss Martin Anayi has spoken about their huge financial contribution.

“South African teams have been tremendously successful in terms of both performance and attendance, as well as financially and commercially,” Anayi shared.

He went on to emphasize how South African clubs have helped raise the overall standard of the competition, on and off the field.

“More than half of our revenue comes from South Africa, through television and sponsorship deals.

They’ve also added significant value to European rugby through Investec’s sponsorship of the Champions Cup. South Africa plays a massive role in the rugby economy,” he said.b
