Prince Harry interacts with Ukrainian sports manager at Invictus Games in Whistler and promises to sign Spare for a charity raffle away from cameras

Prince Harry had a brief yet interesting encounter while spending time at the Invictus Games in Whistler, Canada.

While enjoying some skiing with his teammates, he was approached by Igor Krystak, a Sports Manager for Team Ukraine from the previous year’s games.

Igor had something special in his hands—a copy of Harry’s memoir, Spare, and a request for an autograph.

However, Harry quickly declined to sign the book in front of cameras, responding with a simple, “Not here.”

A Private Promise

Although Harry initially turned down the public signing, he reassured Igor that he would fulfill the request later, saying, “Find me later.”

Igor agreed, and Harry further reassured him, adding, “I’m here all week.”

Igor shared the moment on Instagram, explaining that the book was meant for a donation raffle.

While the exact purpose wasn’t specified, given Igor’s previous involvement in fundraising efforts for Ukrainians affected by war—including a mobile washing station project—it was likely tied to a charitable cause.

In his caption, Igor noted, “The book will be signed, but not under the cameras.”

A Longstanding Connection

This wasn’t the first time Igor and Harry had crossed paths.

A photo from the 2023 Invictus Games showed the two posing together, with Igor reminiscing about that week as an unforgettable experience.

He described it as a whirlwind of emotions, people, and events that would stay with him forever.

Beyond his role in the Invictus Games, Igor has been active in humanitarian efforts.

His LinkedIn profile indicates that he has also worked as a volunteer at the SaveUkraineNow Coordination Center for military assistance.

Meghan’s Snowy Adventure

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle brought her own energy to the event by trying out a winter sport that had her both nervous and excited.

The Duchess of Sussex joined family and friends of the 2025 Invictus Games competitors for a tubing session down a snowy slope.

Despite Harry’s encouragement that she would be “absolutely fine,” Meghan hesitated at first, nervously exclaiming, “No, no, I really don’t want to do this!”

But after taking the plunge, she sped down the hill, much to Harry’s amusement.

In a video shared to Instagram, Meghan can be seen receiving instructions on how to position herself in the tube before letting out a scream as she glided down the slope.

Harry, laughing, was heard shouting, “Feet up, feet up, feet up!” as he watched her go.

Meghan’s Departure

Though Meghan joined in on the fun, her time at the games was brief.

She was later seen walking hand-in-hand with Harry before making her exit from the event.

The Duchess had always planned to return home to Montecito, California, to reunite with their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

Before leaving, she attended morning sporting events in Whistler before making the 110-mile journey back to Vancouver to catch her flight.

Meanwhile, Harry remained at the games, set to attend three more events and face freezing temperatures as low as -11°C.

Harry Greeted by Fans

As the Invictus Games continued, Harry found himself surrounded by excited supporters upon arriving at a ceremony on Whistler Mountain.

Fans eagerly crowded around him, hoping to snap a photo as he made his way up the slopes under bright sunshine.

His bodyguard, Chris Sanchez, a former US Presidential Secret Service agent, had his hands full trying to guide Harry through the enthusiastic crowd.

The Invictus Games Continue

This year’s Invictus Games, the first to feature winter sports, are being held across Vancouver and Whistler.

With events still underway, the games are set to conclude on February 16.

As Harry continues his commitment to the competition he founded in 2014, all eyes remain on him as he supports veterans and service members from around the world.
