Gino D’Acampo promotes his cookbook on social media while facing misconduct allegations that put ITV under pressure to respond

Italian celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo has returned to social media, but not for the reasons some might expect.

While allegations of misconduct continue to surface, the 48-year-old chef has shifted focus to promoting his latest cookbook.

In his latest Instagram post, Gino shared a cooking demonstration, preparing honey-glazed cod with lemon and garlic.

He walked viewers through the process, adding a heartwarming moment with his dog before tasting the dish.

His caption read: “Perfect recipe for Valentine’s Day… Super Easy & Super Tasty.”

But despite the cheerful post, controversy continues to swirl around him.

ITV Under Pressure Amid Allegations

As accusations mount against Gino, ITV is facing scrutiny over its response.

Reports claim the network is under “increasing pressure” to explain why no firm action was taken against the chef despite multiple allegations.

Some reports suggest that over 40 complaints have surfaced, spanning a 12-year period, with claims of sexually inappropriate and intimidating behavior.

One woman alleged that she raised concerns about Gino’s conduct back in 2018 but saw no response from ITV.

Other staff members at This Morning reportedly expressed concerns about his behavior over a decade ago.

In response, ITV stated: “Where a complaint is made to ITV or serious concerns are raised, we will look into it. If we find that something inappropriate has happened, we will take action.”

However, critics argue that ITV and other production companies failed to act sooner and instead protected Gino due to financial interests.

Gino’s Response: Denial and Frustration

Gino has strongly denied the accusations, calling them “deeply upsetting” and insisting that the claims are “simply not in my nature.”

He maintains that he was never made aware of any allegations against him before.

He also pointed out that ITV executives had continuously supported him and commissioned him for prime-time shows during the years in which these allegations allegedly took place.

Vicky Entwistle Defends Gino and Criticizes ITV

Actress Vicky Entwistle, best known for playing Janice Battersby on Coronation Street, voiced her support for Gino.

Taking to social media, she criticized ITV for what she sees as hypocrisy.

“I don’t know this man personally, so I have no reason to defend him,” she wrote.

“BUT!!! ITV played that man for all he was worth… cheeky, naughty, foreign, hilarious!!!

It all fitted 10 years ago… now with a new WOKE agenda they crucify him?!???”

This isn’t the first time Entwistle has spoken out against ITV.

Previously, she compared Coronation Street to a “cult” and accused the network of fostering a toxic work environment.

More Disturbing Allegations Surface

One of the allegations includes claims that Gino made inappropriate comments about his former This Morning co-star, Holly Willoughby.

A woman alleged that in 2018, Gino made crude remarks about choosing between Holly and her friend Fearne Cotton.

According to The Sun, Gino allegedly said: “If I could put the face of one on the body of the other, then maybe.

But I’d probably choose Holly because I’d have more fun with her.”

The woman reportedly emailed ITV’s CEO at the time, expressing her concerns, but claims she was “sharply dismissed.”

Meanwhile, staff members from Gino’s various TV projects have come forward, describing his behavior as inappropriate and even “bullying.”

One former colleague recounted an incident where Gino allegedly threw equipment onto the floor during filming in Italy, forcing her to pick it up piece by piece.

ITV Cuts Ties, But Streaming Shows Remain

Following the allegations, ITV has reportedly dropped Gino from its programming.

However, his shows remain available on ITV’s streaming service, ITVX, sparking backlash.

Dr. Charlotte Proudman, founder of Right to Equality, criticized ITV for still platforming Gino’s content.

She stated: “This sends a damaging message to victims and the wider industry: that commercial interests outweigh accountability.”

What’s Next for Gino D’Acampo?

With ITV distancing itself from Gino and allegations continuing to emerge, the future of his television career remains uncertain.

He has vowed never to work with the network again, but the controversy surrounding him is far from over.

Whether Gino will be able to rebuild his reputation or face further fallout depends on how the situation unfolds—and whether more voices come forward.
