Nate Robinson, a former NBA star, is finally set to receive a new kidney after an exhausting two-year battle with a serious health condition.
Robinson, who played for teams like the Knicks, Bulls, and Nuggets over a 13-year basketball career, had been fighting renal kidney failure, a struggle he first revealed in October 2022.
A Life-Threatening Health Battle
The 40-year-old athlete opened up about his health issues in a candid interview, explaining how critical the situation had become.

In his caption, Robinson expressed deep gratitude: “I’m here to celebrate and thank the LORD for all he has done in my life.
Today is the day I get my new kidney, thank you to all the people that sent prayers and texted my phone giving me encouragement & love!!! Ur a foo if you don’t believe in GOD and the miracles he performs !! Amen.”
The Struggles of Dialysis
Back in April 2024, Robinson had opened up about the painful side effects of his dialysis treatments.
He shared that the process often left him feeling sick, causing frequent vomiting, which sometimes led to hospital stays.
However, he recognized the importance of dialysis for his survival, saying, “If I didn’t go to dialysis, I wouldn’t live probably longer than a week or two.”
The treatments were grueling—four hours, three days a week—but Robinson emphasized how crucial they were for his survival.
Despite the tough circumstances, he remained focused on cherishing his moments with family, playing basketball, and trying to live as normal a life as possible.
A Stellar Basketball Career
Robinson’s career was filled with memorable moments.
He scored a total of 6,807 points during his time in the NBA, earning a record three wins in the Dunk Contest.
After leaving the New Orleans Pelicans in 2015, he played briefly in Israel, Venezuela, Lebanon, and the NBA’s G-League, closing out his career on an international note.
