Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ludacris have teamed up once again, but this time, it’s not for another high-octane street race.
Instead, the Fast & Furious icons are slowing things down in a brand-new Super Bowl commercial for Häagen-Dazs, humorously titled ‘NOT SO FAST, NOT SO FURIOUS.’
A Cruise Unlike Any Other
In the 30-second commercial, Vin Diesel, 57, and Michelle Rodriguez, 46, are seen cruising along a scenic coastal road in a classic first-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
At first, the cinematography hints at the adrenaline-pumping action fans have come to expect from the Fast & Furious franchise.
But just as viewers brace for speed, the mood takes a twist.
Michelle casually pulls out a Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond ice cream bar, savoring the moment instead of flooring the gas pedal.
As the soulful voice of Smokey Robinson sets the tone, the laid-back vibe is hilariously interrupted by Ludacris, 47, rolling up in an open-top Jeep Gladiator.
A Playful Nod to Their Fast-Paced Past
With a mock look of frustration, Ludacris questions his co-stars: ‘Hey! What happened to the fast life?’
Vin Diesel, unfazed and grinning, simply replies, ‘Not today.’
He then turns up the radio, letting the smooth soundtrack take over as the title ‘NOT SO FAST, NOT SO FURIOUS’ appears on screen.
Nostalgia on the Pacific Coast Highway
On Monday, Vin Diesel shared a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot, reminiscing about the franchise’s deep roots in Los Angeles.
In his caption, he reflected on how it all began:
’25 years ago on the streets of Los Angeles, we created something that became bigger than any of us could have imagined.
Not just a movie — but a family that stretches across the globe.’
Filming the Super Bowl spot along the same stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway where he and Paul Walker once raced brought a wave of nostalgia.
Vin noted how the shoot felt like a homecoming, especially with familiar crew members who had been part of the journey from the start.
Bringing Fast & Furious Back to LA
Acknowledging the recent hardships Los Angeles has faced due to devastating wildfires, Vin emphasized how the city remains at the heart of the franchise:
‘We’ve all felt that Fast needs to come back to LA. Not just because it’s where we started, but because it’s who we are.’
He reassured longtime fans that the saga is far from over: ‘To every fan who’s made this decades-long journey with us—this one’s for you.
And to Los Angeles, our first home, our heart—we’re coming back.
The engines are revving, the family’s gathering, and these streets are calling us home.’
Fast X: Part 2 – The Final Chapter?
Vin Diesel also revealed that the decision to bring Fast X: Part 2 back to Los Angeles was influenced by co-star Jordana Brewster’s personal request.
The upcoming 11th installment of the franchise is set to continue where 2023’s Fast X left off and is widely speculated to be the final chapter.
While fans eagerly await more high-speed action, an official release date for Fast X: Part 2 has yet to be announced.
One thing’s for sure—whether it’s in a blockbuster movie or a playful Super Bowl ad, the Fast & Furious family always knows how to make an impact.
