Kroger Faces Widespread Outage Across the US Leaving Customers Unable to Access Medications and Complete Orders in 35 States

Kroger has been hit with a significant outage affecting its pharmacy and other services, leaving many customers across the U.S. unable to access essential medications or complete orders.

With nearly 2,800 locations spread across 35 states, Kroger is one of the largest grocery chains in the country, but the outage is causing major disruption, especially in its pharmacy services.

Pharmacy Services Completely Down

Customers are reporting that Kroger pharmacies, including those located within its grocery stores, are unable to provide prescriptions because all systems are currently down.

Many people shared their frustration online, including one customer from Gahanna, Ohio, who noted that the pharmacy couldn’t even hand out prescriptions that were already ready for pickup.

Kroger operates over 2,250 pharmacies nationwide, serving around 17 million patients annually, so this system failure is affecting a huge number of people who rely on these services for their health needs.

App and Store Systems Are Also Impacted

In addition to the pharmacy outages, Kroger’s app is crashing for customers trying to make purchases.

Users have been unable to use the app to place orders for pickup, further adding to the disruption.

One Michigan local, who seems to work at Kroger, shared an update in a Facebook group, stating that all store systems in the state are down.

This includes everything from the ability to process orders to the complete loss of internet service.

They also mentioned that there are no EBT payments being accepted in stores and that the fuel centers are also offline, leaving many people stranded or unable to complete basic transactions.

Unfortunately, there is no estimate on when these issues will be resolved.

Previous Outages Raise Concerns

This isn’t the first time Kroger has faced significant technical problems.

Back in September 2024, the grocery giant dealt with a similar outage, this time affecting its app and the ability for customers to place orders for pickup.

The problem spread across multiple Kroger brands, including Dillons, further complicating matters for customers already dealing with the current outage.

While many are hoping for a swift resolution, the ongoing technical issues are leaving shoppers and pharmacy customers frustrated and uncertain about when they’ll be able to get their prescriptions and complete their orders.
