This latest win reinforces his status as a world-class musician who continues to break boundaries with his innovative sound.
At the 67th Grammy Awards on 2 February 2025, Kellerman took home the award for Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album for his collaborative masterpiece, Triveni.
The album, released in 2024, is a fusion of cultures, blending Kellerman’s signature flute melodies with the artistry of Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto and Indian vocalist Chandrika Tandon.
The result is a mesmerizing blend of global sounds that has captivated audiences and critics alike.
A Heartfelt Acceptance Speech
Taking the stage to accept his award, Kellerman expressed deep gratitude for the journey that led him to this moment.
“This is a testament to the fact that music has the power to unite and heal,” he said, acknowledging the contributions of his collaborators. “Thank you, Chandrika.
Thank you, Eru. Thank you to all the musicians who brought Triveni to life.
A special thank you to Tholsi Pillay, my best friend and business partner, and most importantly, to all of you.
Music connects, and I am very grateful to share this moment with you.”
Dressed in an elegant gold brocade ensemble by celebrated South African designer Gert-Johan Coetzee, Kellerman exuded confidence and pride as he walked the red carpet, once again proving that South Africa’s artistic talent extends beyond just music.
