IShowSpeed, the popular YouTube star, had no idea he’d end up in the Royal Rumble when he showed up as a guest at the event.
Earlier that night, he was streaming backstage, enjoying the action from behind the scenes, never imagining he’d be pulled into the chaos of the match itself.
But things quickly took a wild turn when Akira Tozawa was attacked during his entrance.
With one of the competitors down, Triple H made the call and asked IShowSpeed to step in for Tozawa, and enter the Rumble match on short notice.
IShowSpeed Helps Eliminate Otis Before Being Quickly Punished
Although Speed was thrown into the match unexpectedly, he managed to make an impact right away.
He helped Bron Breakker eliminate Otis, and even celebrated the moment with a backflip and a signature Cristiano Ronaldo “Sui!” chant. However, the celebration didn’t last long.
Speed’s high-energy moment quickly turned disastrous when he was speared in half by the Intercontinental Champion, sending him crashing out of the match in a hurry.
Brutal Landing Sends IShowSpeed to the Backstage
Things got even worse for Speed when he attempted to vault through the air after Breakker’s overhead throw.
Otis, who had caught him mid-air, didn’t make it an easy landing for him.
Instead of gently placing him down, Otis tossed Speed onto the announce table, further brutalizing him.
The YouTube sensation’s Royal Rumble debut ended with a nasty fall, and after that, Speed ended his stream, clearly shaken up by the physical toll of the match.
While WWE matches are scripted, no amount of choreography could have prepared him for the kind of punishment he endured.
Speed Shows Off Injury Backstage to Logan Paul
After being thrown out of the match, IShowSpeed was found backstage by fellow YouTuber Logan Paul.
Speed showed him the injury he suffered on his leg — a nasty scrape or burn that had torn a chunk of skin off.
It was clear that his quick entrance into the match had come with some serious physical consequences.
This wasn’t Speed’s first time in the WWE universe.
The 20-year-old, who boasts over 45 million subscribers, had previously been RKO’d by Randy Orton while trying to help Logan Paul.
Despite the painful experience, it seems like IShowSpeed’s foray into WWE may not be his last.
Logan Paul Keeps His Spot in the Rumble
Meanwhile, Logan Paul, who entered the Royal Rumble later on in the number 30 spot, managed to keep himself in the match longer.
Some might say it was poetic when Paul jumped onto the same announce table that had been the site of Speed’s brutal exit.
While Speed didn’t last long, his wild ride in the Rumble certainly made for some memorable moments.
