Las Vegas Raiders Owner Mark Davis Highlights Tom Brady’s Crucial Role in Team’s Midseason Rebuild Amid Disappointing Performance

After another tough season, the Las Vegas Raiders are in the midst of a major rebuild, and Mark Davis, the team’s owner, credits Tom Brady for being the driving force behind it.

The franchise’s struggles have attracted a lot of criticism from fans, but Brady, who joined the team as a minority owner, has taken charge of the rebuild.

He played a key role in bringing in Pete Carroll as head coach and John Spytek as general manager, both of whom were introduced earlier this week.

Davis Shares How Brady Fills the Leadership Void

Davis spoke about the significant change Brady brought to the Raiders, describing him as the “missing piece” the team had been lacking since Jon Gruden’s resignation.

Davis mentioned that, back in 2018, he thought Gruden would be the person to bring the stability the organization needed.

However, after Gruden resigned following the revelation of past offensive emails, the team was left in a difficult spot.

Davis emphasized that having Brady involved in the decision-making process has been a game-changer.

“Bringing in Tom Brady was bringing in somebody on the football side that I had been lacking,” Davis explained.

“Back in ’18, with Jon Gruden, he was supposed to be that person to provide stability, but we were left in a bad position after that.”

Raiders’ Rebuilding Journey Continues

Since Gruden’s departure, the Raiders have gone through several changes, with Josh McDaniels and Antonio Pierce briefly taking over before Carroll’s hiring.

Brady’s influence, particularly in selecting coaching candidates, has been felt across the organization, and Davis hopes the changes will turn the Raiders’ fortunes around.

Despite the rocky road, Davis believes the team is on the right track now.

“We want to build something here.

That’s been the mindset all along,” Davis added. “

After Jon Gruden left, it kind of threw us off course, but I’m patient, and I think we have the right people in place now. Results will speak for themselves, and we’ll see where it takes us.”

A Tough Season and Brady’s Dual Role

The Raiders finished with a disappointing 4-13 record this season, but Brady’s involvement in the franchise doesn’t end with ownership.

He’s also navigating his new role as Fox’s lead NFL analyst, which came with a hefty contract worth $375 million.

There was initial concern that his stake in the Raiders might create a conflict of interest with his broadcasting career, especially given the poor reviews of his first year as an analyst.

However, Brady quickly shut down rumors that he might leave Fox to step into a more active role in the Raiders’ front office.

Despite some challenges, Brady’s leadership and ownership are seen as key to the Raiders’ future, as they work to reshape the team under new management.
