Casemiro Open to Joining Roma on Loan from Manchester United But High Salary and Uncertain Future Make Deal Complex

Roma’s Interest in Casemiro: A Potential Loan Deal

Roma is reportedly eyeing a loan move for Casemiro from Manchester United, but there are hurdles to overcome before anything can be finalized.

The Italian club’s interest hinges on the sale of Leandro Paredes, and it seems the Brazilian midfielder is open to the idea of making the switch.

At this point, Roma’s interest is still tentative, and Manchester United isn’t actively looking to offload the 32-year-old.

As of now, it’s more likely that Casemiro will remain at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.

High Salary Could Be a Roadblock

Casemiro is Manchester United’s highest-paid player, earning £375,000 per week, which could create issues in any potential deal with Roma.

The player’s hefty salary would be a major obstacle for the Serie A club, as it could prove difficult to manage within their budget.

Similar to Marcus Rashford’s situation, United would likely need to contribute to Casemiro’s wages if he were to move elsewhere for the rest of the season.

This makes the prospect of a deal even more complicated.

Casemiro’s Recent Struggles at United

Once a key player under Erik ten Hag, Casemiro’s position at United has significantly changed recently.

The veteran midfielder has found himself on the bench for the last six matches and hasn’t been called upon as a substitute.

Ruben Amorim, United’s current manager, has increasingly favored other options in the midfield, including younger players like Toby Collyer, alongside established names like Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo, and Christian Eriksen.

Amorim explained Casemiro’s absence in the squad ahead of United’s win over Fulham, saying, “I have to make choices based on the game’s characteristics and the style I want to play.

It’s nothing personal—just about selecting the right player for the task at hand.”

Other Transfer Developments

Meanwhile, United’s talks with Lecce over a potential move for Patrick Dorgu are progressing, but a fee has yet to be agreed.

United is reportedly holding firm on their £30 million valuation for the Danish left-back, and the deal will depend on whether Lecce is willing to meet that asking price.

It looks like United has a few moving pieces in the transfer market, with several factors to consider before making any significant moves this window.
