Sir Mo Farah’s Mansion for Sale
Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah is looking to cash in on his stunning mansion, listing it for £6 million.
The four-time gold medalist’s impressive eight-bedroom home is now on the market six years after he purchased it for £4 million.
Set in an exclusive Surrey estate, the property promises a luxurious and spacious lifestyle.
A Dream Home with Sporting Perks
Spanning 7,829 sq ft, this property offers ample space for any family.
The house features an outdoor swimming pool and a section that’s already prepared for use as a gym, complete with electrical wiring. For those who love golf, it backs onto a private championship-standard course, part of a 900-acre estate that also includes a tennis and squash club.
The surrounding area offers even more for sport enthusiasts, with access to the River Thames for activities like kayaking, sailing, and wild water swimming.
Plus, there are plenty of local clubs for rugby, football, horse riding, and even dance and creative arts.
Luxury Living and Entertainment Spaces
Inside, Sir Mo has transformed the ground-floor ‘garden room’ into a chic entertainment area, featuring a pool table and a treadmill for his workouts.
The rest of the ground floor is designed to impress, with a stunning reception hall, a sweeping staircase, and beautifully appointed rooms, including a study and an elegant drawing room.
Both the drawing room and dining room lead to the rear gardens through double doors.
Estate agents highlight the open-plan kitchen/breakfast room as the heart of the home.
This area opens into a double-height garden room, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light—an ideal setting for hosting guests.
Bedrooms and More
Upstairs, the main bedroom suite is particularly luxurious, complete with a custom-designed dressing room and a balcony that overlooks the gardens.
There are three additional bedroom suites on this floor, two of which come with walk-in wardrobes.
The second floor includes another bedroom suite, a media room, and extra storage space.
There are seven bathrooms throughout the mansion to cater to every need.
For added convenience, the house also features a second entrance hall that includes a utility and changing room, with stairs leading up to a one-bedroom annex that could be used as staff accommodation.
Beautiful Grounds and Privacy
The mansion sits on an acre of land, with beautifully landscaped gardens, a wooded area, and a charming stream complete with a bridge.
A quirky feature of the garden is an old-fashioned red telephone box.
To ensure privacy and security, the gated estate is monitored 24/7 by private security, keeping the area safe from intruders.
A Scary Incident and a Heroic Moment
While the estate offers top-notch security, it wasn’t enough to stop two thieves from trying to steal Sir Mo’s phone just weeks ago.
The thieves managed to breach the security while Sir Mo was out jogging with his wife, Tania.
After leaving his phone by the roadside, Sir Mo noticed a white van pull up, and one of the thieves grabbed his device.
Quick to act, Sir Mo sprinted after the thieves, catching up with them and forcing them to return the phone before they sped off.
Despite the quick recovery, the incident sparked an investigation into how the thieves managed to bypass security measures.
A Journey from Humble Beginnings
This grand mansion stands in stark contrast to Sir Mo’s humble beginnings.
Raised in a council house in Hounslow, London, after being trafficked to the UK from Somalia, Sir Mo faced many challenges. His father was killed in civil violence when he was just a child, and he had to work as a domestic servant.
But with the help of a PE teacher who encouraged him to pursue athletics, Sir Mo’s life took a turn for the better.
His dedication paid off when he became one of the UK’s most successful athletes, eventually earning British citizenship in 2000.
Now, Sir Mo Farah’s incredible journey has brought him to this impressive mansion, where he hopes to make a tidy profit as he moves on to the next chapter of his life.
