Kaizer Chiefs Set to Finalize the Signing of DR Congo Striker Makabi Glody Lilepo to Strengthen Their Attack in the Second Half of the Season

Kaizer Chiefs are making significant strides toward securing the signing of DR Congo striker Makabi Glody Lilepo.

The 27-year-old forward, currently playing for Valenciennes in France’s Ligue 2, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Soweto giants, and is expected to make the move to South Africa soon.

Transfer Deal Underway

Sources have confirmed that talks between Kaizer Chiefs and Lilepo’s representatives have been progressing.

Initially, Lilepo was hesitant to leave Europe, but after careful consideration, he has now given his approval for the move.

According to Soccer Laduma, the terms have been agreed upon, and the deal is in its final stages.

Reports also suggest that Kaizer Chiefs have made an offer of R9.6 million for the Congolese striker.

Lilepo has had a solid season with Valenciennes, netting four goals and providing one assist in 14 appearances across all competitions.

His impressive form has caught the attention of Amakhosi, who are looking to bolster their attacking options.

Strengthening the Squad

Currently, Kaizer Chiefs only have Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley Du Preez as recognized strikers in their squad.

Adding a player like Lilepo could provide the team with a much-needed boost in the second half of the season.

The club has faced challenges with both goal-scoring and consistency, sitting sixth in the Betway Premiership.

Departures Expected

As Kaizer Chiefs prepare to bring in Lilepo, they are also looking to offload two players, Mduduzi Mdantsane and Zitha Kwinika.

Both players have struggled to secure game time under coach Nasreddine Nabi this season.

With interest from PSL rivals AmaZulu FC, Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly looking to sell the duo for a combined R20 million, making room for new signings.
