A tragic incident unfolded in Gosport on Saturday evening, leaving a 69-year-old man dead after being hit by a vehicle in the car park of an Asda supermarket.

The incident occurred around 5:45 PM at the Dock Road location, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Police Investigation Underway

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that the man, from Gosport, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have launched a full investigation and are seeking witnesses to the collision.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have dashcam footage or other recordings of the incident or events leading up to it.

The car involved in the incident, a blue Volkswagen Passat, reportedly struck the pedestrian, who was then assisted by members of the public.
