Media professionals from across the globe gather in Rome for Jubilee of Hope celebrations in January 2025

This month, Rome is set to host a remarkable event that blends faith and the power of communication.

The Jubilee of the World of Communications, the first major gathering of the holy year following the opening of the Holy Doors, will take place from January 24 to 26, bringing together media professionals from across the globe.

A Unique Pilgrimage for Media Experts

Journalists, video producers, editors, graphic designers, and social media managers are invited to embark on a spiritual journey to the Eternal City.

This event is more than a gathering—it’s a chance to renew faith, reflect on the transformative power of communication, and receive the special graces associated with the 2025 Jubilee of Hope.

The event begins with a warm welcome and a penitential liturgy scheduled for the evening of January 24 at 5:30 p.m. local time.

This will set the tone for a weekend of reflection and celebration.

Honoring St. Francis de Sales

On January 25, participants will join a special Mass at St. John Lateran Basilica to honor St. Francis de Sales, the patron saint of journalists and writers.

This day, dedicated to the spiritual side of media work, serves as a reminder of the profound impact that communicators can have on society.

The Mass will be followed by a pilgrimage starting at 8 a.m. local time to the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica.

Opened by Pope Francis on December 24, the Holy Door has already drawn over half a million faithful from around the world, each seeking its spiritual blessings.

Engaging Discussions and a Papal Audience

The day doesn’t end at the Holy Door.

Attendees will proceed to a thought-provoking session at 10 a.m. led by prominent speakers: Filipino journalist Maria Ressa and Irish writer Colum McCann.

These accomplished communicators will share insights on the role of media in shaping hope and unity in modern society.

At 12:30 p.m., participants will have the extraordinary opportunity to meet with Pope Francis during an audience in Paul VI Hall.

This personal connection with the Holy Father is expected to inspire attendees to carry forward the message of hope and faith through their work.

A Global Gathering for Reflection and Renewal

This Jubilee event is a powerful reminder of the essential role communication plays in spreading hope and fostering understanding.

For media professionals, it is a chance to reflect on their vocation and the ethical responsibilities tied to their craft.

As the Jubilee of the World of Communications unfolds, Rome will become a center of inspiration, bringing together diverse voices united by a common purpose: to make the world a better, more connected place.
