Celebrities including Kim Kardashian face backlash for wasting water as LA wildfires devastate communities

As the Los Angeles wildfires continue to ravage the city, frustration is growing over celebrities’ wasteful use of water during a time of crisis.

Public figures like Kim Kardashian, known for her high-profile lifestyle, are facing criticism for using vital water resources that could have been allocated to firefighting efforts.

Water Restrictions Ignored by Celebrities

Since 2022, California has enforced strict water restrictions to conserve resources during the state’s recurring droughts.

Residents, including those in the wealthy neighborhoods of LA, have been limited to watering their gardens only twice a week for eight minutes at a time.

Despite these measures, Kardashian, who resides in a $60 million mansion in The Oaks, a gated community near the heart of the fires, used 232,000 gallons more than her allocation, resulting in a hefty fine.

Other celebrities, such as Sylvester Stallone and comedian Kevin Hart, have also been cited for similar violations.

Though Kardashian has since installed water-saving systems, local residents are furious about the celebrities’ disregard for the conservation measures.

One of her neighbors commented, “They carried on watering because they could afford the fines.”

Private Firefighters Add to the Outrage

In addition to their water usage, celebrities are also facing criticism for hiring private firefighters to protect their multi-million-dollar properties during the wildfires.

Chris Dunn, the owner of Covered 6, a company that provides this service to Hollywood elites, confirmed that demand for private fire protection has never been higher.

While some argue that paying for personal firefighting services is a choice available to those with wealth, others view it as an example of privilege during a time of widespread disaster.

The Widespread Destruction and Efforts to Evacuate

As the wildfires grow, entire neighborhoods, including Mandeville Canyon and Brentwood, are in danger.

Several homes, including celebrity-owned mansions, have already been consumed by the flames.

Thousands of residents are now under mandatory evacuation orders, while others are stuck in traffic, trying to flee the approaching blaze.

On Sunset Boulevard, a woman reported being stuck in gridlock for two hours as she attempted to deliver supplies to local firefighters.

The fire has already claimed the lives of 11 people and destroyed more than 12,000 structures.

Authorities have confirmed that over 37,000 acres of land have been scorched, and many more residents are at risk as the fire continues to spread.

Celebrities Speak Out Amid the Crisis

As the fire spreads, celebrities like LeBron James, who owns a mansion in Brentwood, are sharing their prayers and concern for those affected.

James tweeted, “I pray this nightmare ends soon! So many prayers,” as the flames threatened his home.

Other notable residents, including former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, also face the danger of losing their properties to the devastating wildfires.

Authorities have declared a local health emergency due to the poor air quality, which is causing long-term health risks for residents.

Airplanes are actively working to combat the flames with fire retardant, while officials continue to search for potential arsonists.
