Humphrey Mlwane Criticizes Kaizer Chiefs for Disappointing Results and Lack of Progress in Current Season

It’s been a while since Humphrey Mlwane last played for Kaizer Chiefs, but he hasn’t held back in expressing his disappointment with the team’s recent form.

The former Chiefs midfielder has shared his frustrations, admitting that the team’s current results have left fans, including himself, feeling disheartened.

“The results for Chiefs have been disappointing,” Mlwane said.

“I just don’t know what’s happening with the team, and all I can say is that for us who love the team, we are disappointed.”

He made it clear that he didn’t want to blame any individual, acknowledging that the whole team, including the coach and players, are responsible for the current struggles.

Concerns About Lack of Progress and Team Struggles

With high hopes for the team’s improvement under the new coach, Mlwane’s expectations have sadly not been met.

“We had a lot of expectations about the team improving, but judging by what we’ve seen so far, it looks like we’re in for a very long season,” he continued.

He expressed concern about the lack of progress, saying, “The results have not been impressive.

There is just no progress.

All I see is huffing and puffing, and it’s disappointing.

It’s like the team is taking one step forward and ten steps backward.”

Mlwane also empathized with the fans, acknowledging the frustration of Chiefs supporters.

“I just feel sorry for Chiefs supporters because their team is so disappointing.

But let’s not give up on them—maybe there’s work being done behind the scenes to improve the team and the results,” he said, though he voiced concern that the team might resort to signing numerous new players without fixing the underlying issues.

Patrick Maswanganyi’s Future at Orlando Pirates in Question

Shifting focus to Orlando Pirates, there’s a growing concern that the club could lose several of its star players next season.

One such player is Patrick Maswanganyi, the 2023/24 PSL Player of the Year.

According to his mentor, Farouk Khan from the Stars of Africa Academy, Maswanganyi is ready for a move to Europe.

“Tito is ready for Europe,” Khan confirmed.

“Even himself as a player, he really wants to play there.” Khan went on to explain that while Pirates might allow Maswanganyi to make the move, it could benefit not just the club financially but also the player and the country.

He added that Maswanganyi’s previous time in Portugal didn’t work out as planned, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still make it big in Europe.

The Future of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

As both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates face their respective challenges, the questions on everyone’s mind are what steps both teams will take next.

Will Kaizer Chiefs be able to turn their fortunes around, and will Orlando Pirates hold on to their key players, including Maswanganyi? The future of both clubs remains uncertain, but the decisions they make in the coming months will undoubtedly have a significant impact on their performance and reputation.
