Surveillance footage shows a horrifying cocktail fire injury while Binghamton police officers laugh and make inappropriate jokes in leaked video

A shocking incident involving a 20-year-old woman, who was severely injured by an exploding cocktail, has recently sparked outrage after footage emerged of police officers laughing and joking while watching the distressing moment.

The footage, which was leaked by someone connected to the investigation, shows the woman engulfed in flames after her drink, which had been lit on fire, exploded.

While this tragedy occurred on December 27 at Courtside Bar and Grill in Binghamton, the video’s release has raised questions about the officers’ behavior.

A Young Woman’s Horrifying Injury

The young woman, who had been at the bar celebrating her 21st birthday, was horrifically injured in the explosion.

In the video, you can see her sitting at the bar when flames suddenly erupt around her, causing her to jump up and desperately try to extinguish the fire.

Another person at the bar also gets caught in the explosion, collapsing to the floor while trying to put out the flames on their head.

While this was happening, voices from the background can be heard laughing and making inappropriate comments.

One voice exclaims, “That was fking awesome,” while another adds, “Maybe they did switch it out with a fking Vietnam flamethrower.”

A third person even remarks, “That looks like it stuck to her like napalm.”

Fallout from the Leaked Footage

The release of this footage has led to serious consequences for the Binghamton Police Department.

An officer has been suspended without pay for leaking the video, and an internal investigation is underway to determine who was involved in the unauthorized sharing.

It’s still unclear if the officers heard laughing in the video are directly connected to the leak.

In addition, police have also charged the bartender, Camlyn Lyons, with unlawful sale of alcohol to a person under 18.

Official Response

Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham addressed the situation, stating that the city is taking the incident very seriously.

He confirmed that the police department’s Internal Affairs Office is conducting an investigation into the leak and potential violations of department policy.

“I anticipate further disciplinary action for the suspended officer and for any other officer found to have violated department policy,” Kraham said.

While the investigation is ongoing, the public continues to question the behavior of the officers and the disturbing nature of the leaked footage.

The woman who was injured has been receiving medical care at Upstate Medical in Syracuse, and the other two people involved were treated for minor burns at the scene.

The Binghamton community now awaits further updates on this troubling incident.
