Recently, Manqoba Mngqithi was relieved of his duties as head coach at Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, it seems that his coaching career may not be slowing down anytime soon.

In fact, he could be back on the field sooner than expected.

Sundowns Move to Appoint Cardoso

The change in leadership at Sundowns came with the announcement of Miguel Cardoso as the new head coach, which led to the departures of Mngqithi, along with his assistants Romain Folz and Wendell Robinson.

The club issued a statement expressing gratitude for their service, stating:

“Mamelodi Sundowns is thankful to Manqoba Mngqithi and Wendell Robinson for their loyal services to the club over the years and wishes them everything of the best in their new endeavors.

Manqoba Mngqithi and Wendell Robinson will forever remain part of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family.

Mamelodi Sundowns is also thankful to Romain Folz who recently joined the club.”

Mngqithi’s Potential Return to Golden Arrows

While the future for Folz and Robinson remains uncertain, Mngqithi’s next move seems clearer.

According to reports, both Golden Arrows and Richards Bay FC were in the running for his services, but Golden Arrows appear to have emerged as the likely destination.

The Citizen has reported that Mngqithi could soon be returning to his former club.

Khenyeza’s Resignation: A Prelude to Mngqithi’s Return?

It seems that Mngqithi’s return to Golden Arrows is all but confirmed, with reports suggesting that coach Mabhudi Khenyeza resigned due to dissatisfaction with a potential demotion.

A source close to the situation told the publication, “Mabhuti (Khenyeza) was not happy that he was going to be demoted so he left the club.

But Mngqithi is coming back to Arrows. The club will make an announcement this week.”

A Familiar Path: Mngqithi’s History with Arrows

Should this move materialize, it will mark a significant return for Mngqithi, who began his coaching career at Golden Arrows in 2007.

After winning the MTN8 with them, he made the leap to Sundowns, where he spent 12 years.

Now, it appears he could be set to bring his expertise back to Arrows, though it remains unclear if he will be joined by Folz and Robinson.

Stay tuned for further updates as Golden Arrows is expected to make an official announcement soon!
