British Mother Describes How She Was Trapped and Threatened by Turkish Clinic After Mummy Makeover Surgery Left Her with Severe Health Issues

Holly Guest, a British mother of three, recently shared a terrifying experience at a Turkish clinic that left her not only with serious health complications but also feeling trapped and extorted.

She had gone to the clinic earlier this year for a “mummy makeover” — a combination of tummy tuck, breast lift with implants, and liposuction — after losing six stone following a gastric sleeve operation in January.

However, things took a horrific turn during and after her surgery.

A Simple Procedure Turns Into a Medical Nightmare

The 31-year-old business owner from Grimsby was looking forward to a body transformation to match the weight she had lost, feeling insecure about her post-weight loss body despite encouragement from her husband to avoid further surgery.

After extensive research, Holly found a Turkish clinic with glowing reviews of its mummy makeovers.

The price seemed reasonable at £7,900, and Holly was excited to proceed with the operation.

However, things quickly spiraled out of control after the surgery.

Holly woke up to intense complications, collapsing multiple times and enduring what she described as “mini fits.”

Concerned about her health, the clinic told her she had low blood levels and required several blood transfusions, even though she hadn’t lost much blood.

Holly’s condition worsened, and she feared she wouldn’t survive to see her children again.

For 48 hours, she battled through severe pain and frightening symptoms that left her family and herself in a state of absolute terror.

Extorted for More Money

Things became even more alarming when Holly received a staggering bill for over £8,000 for additional medical care she hadn’t agreed to, including charges for a general surgery consultation she never had.

When she refused to pay, the clinic’s staff allegedly threatened to cancel her flight and prevent her from leaving the country unless the debt was settled.

Fearing they might be able to do so since they had access to her flight details and passport information, Holly and her husband panicked and scrambled to book another flight to escape the situation.

Holly describes the situation as feeling “almost held hostage” by the clinic.

With no choice, they rushed to the airport, booked a new flight, and left Turkey as quickly as possible.

Holly felt utterly powerless and horrified by how the clinic had threatened to keep her in a foreign country and trap her there for the sake of money.

A Painful Recovery and Further Surgery Needed

Back in the UK, Holly’s health didn’t improve. She soon noticed a painful lump in her stomach, which turned out to be three haematomas.

Despite the risks of infection and potential sepsis, the haematomas had not been properly treated or drained in Turkey.

Holly now faces more surgery to remove them, with the added emotional and financial strain of dealing with her medical complications.

“I regret this decision deeply,” Holly says. “I can’t even stand up straight, and I still feel terrible. If you’re thinking about going abroad for surgery, please think twice. No amount of money is worth your life or health.”

Holly’s harrowing experience serves as a stark warning to anyone considering medical tourism.
