LAPD Claims Hawaii Woman Hannah Kobayashi Missed Flight to New York City Intentionally, Family Doubts Police Findings and Demands Answers

The disappearance of 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi, a woman from Hawaii, has taken a puzzling turn, as Los Angeles police claim that she intentionally missed her flight to New York City.

However, her family is adamant that this is not the case, with her sister, Sydni, stating that it’s completely out of character for Hannah to deliberately miss a flight.

The last time anyone heard from her was on November 8, when she missed a connection from her native Maui to New York City.

The Investigation and Alleged Findings

After a series of events that seemed increasingly strange, including a text about a “spiritual awakening” and sightings of Hannah with an unidentified man, the LAPD began investigating the case.

At a Board of Police Commissioners meeting on November 26, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell mentioned that the investigation concluded Hannah had intentionally missed her flight.

Despite this assertion, her family claims they were not informed of this conclusion directly by the LAPD.

Sydni, in a statement on social media, expressed her frustration, revealing that they only learned about the findings through video footage sent by concerned citizens.

The family also raised concerns about inaccuracies in some of the details shared by the police, including Hannah’s age and the date she was reported missing.

Family’s Reaction and Growing Concerns

Sydni and her mother, Brandi Yee, have made it clear that they feel excluded from key developments in the case.

Sydni voiced her confusion, questioning the LAPD’s approach and noting that the way the police chief presented the case made it seem as if Hannah had voluntarily gone off the grid.

She continued to express her belief that her sister is in danger and would not have disappeared without reaching out, especially after the tragic death of their father, Ryan.

Sydni insists that if Hannah had been in her right state of mind, she would never have avoided contacting anyone, particularly after such a personal loss.

Unsettling Text Messages and Venmo Payments

Before her disappearance, Hannah sent several disturbing text messages to friends and family, indicating that she might have been manipulated.

She claimed that her identity was stolen and that she had been “tricked” into giving away her funds to someone she trusted.

Additionally, two Venmo payments were made to unfamiliar individuals, with cryptic messages attached, though the recipients’ relationship to Hannah remains unclear.

These unsettling signs, combined with her missing-persons report, have left her family deeply concerned.

Last Sightings and What’s Next

On November 8, Hannah was seen on security footage at LAX, wearing a black hoodie and colorful sweatpants, before failing to board her connecting flight to New York.

She was later spotted at The Grove mall, charging her phone at Taschen Books, and at a Nike event in Los Angeles on November 10.

The following day, she was seen interacting with a ticketing agent at LAX.

On November 11, after a series of odd text messages, she boarded a Metro train and was last seen with an unidentified person around 10:00 PM.

Since then, her phone has been turned off, and her last known location was at Los Angeles International Airport.

Her family remains in the dark about the specifics of the investigation, but they continue to search for answers.

The mystery of what happened to Hannah Kobayashi remains unsolved, and her loved ones are left hoping for her safe return.
