Station Road in Erdington, Birmingham Becomes Scene of Tragic Accident as Man in His 50s Dies After Being Trapped Under Forklift Truck

In a heartbreaking turn of events this morning, a man in his 50s lost his life after being trapped under a forklift truck.

The accident happened around 10am on Station Road in Erdington, Birmingham.

Emergency Response

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, which was reported as an ‘industrial incident.’

Despite the swift arrival of police and medics, it was soon clear that the man could not be saved.

West Midlands Police confirmed that the man, believed to be in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation Underway

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine how it occurred.

West Midlands Police stated, “We received reports of a man trapped under a forklift truck at around 10:14am today.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

They also noted that the Health and Safety Executive has been notified.

Ambulance Response

According to a spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service, they were alerted to the incident at 10:11am.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were dispatched, but upon arrival, it was clear that nothing could be done to save the man, and he was declared dead at the scene.

Council’s Involvement

Birmingham City Council has been informed of the incident by West Midlands Police.

Health and safety inspectors from the council’s environmental health team are on site to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
