As the transfer window draws to a close, Kaizer Chiefs are ramping up their efforts to secure two crucial signings.

Following their recent acquisitions of Njabulo Blom and Bradley Cross, the club is now focused on making a couple more high-impact additions before the deadline on September 30, 2024.

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has been open about his intent to further enhance the squad to ensure they are competitive in the upcoming season.

Coach Nabi’s Vision

Coach Nabi has made his expectations clear.

A source close to the team shared, “The coach has expressed a strong desire to bring in two more players before the transfer window closes at the end of September.”

The club’s top priority is to sign a prolific striker.

They are eyeing three potential targets: Fiston Mayele, Tumisang Orebonye, and Michael Olunga.

The management is working diligently to secure at least one of these forwards.

Additionally, they are considering adding an attacking midfielder or winger to boost their attacking options.

The Winger Hunt Heats Up

The search for a new winger is now a central focus.

Initially, the club explored the possibility of signing Asanele Velebayi but has since shifted their attention to Tshepang Moremi from AmaZulu FC.

“They initially considered Asanele Velebayi, but that didn’t pan out, so they’ve turned to AmaZulu FC’s Tshepang Moremi,” the source explained.

This change in focus underscores the club’s strategic shift as they aim to secure the best talent before the transfer window closes.

They are keen to finalize these signings quickly to integrate the new players into the squad for the upcoming season.

Contingency Plans in Place

If Kaizer Chiefs cannot wrap up these deals by the September deadline, they have a backup plan.

Another source revealed, “They’re using the next three weeks to finalize these signings.

However, if they don’t succeed, they’re prepared to wait for the January transfer window.”

With the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) not taking place in January next year, the team plans to make the most of the short December break if they can’t complete their signings in September.

Strengthening the squad with a top striker and a skilled winger remains crucial, and both the technical team and management are fully aware of this.
