Firefighters have made significant progress in containing the Thompson Fire, marking the first positive turn in their battle against the blaze, as reported by CAL FIRE.

The latest update from CAL FIRE on Thursday morning reveals that the Thompson Fire, which has raged across 3,568 acres near Oroville, is now 7% contained.

Despite efforts, the firefighting operation has not been without setbacks.

CAL FIRE reports that four firefighters sustained injuries during the course of battling the fire, and four structures have been confirmed destroyed.

The fire, which began on Tuesday, has triggered widespread concern, leading authorities to issue evacuation orders and warnings affecting thousands of residents in the vicinity.
