Lionel Messi’s poor start with PSG has had an impact on his statistics, with his conversion rate now ranking second-worst among all players in Europe’s top five leagues. In Europe’s top five divisions, the Argentine has the second-worst shots-to-goals ratio of any player.

Despite having tried 44 attempts since joining the club, Messi has only scored once for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in Ligue 1.

Only Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo has a worse record, with only one goal from 46 shots in the Premier League this season.

Messi struggled to reach full fitness at the start of the campaign after suffering an injury but is up to speed now.  He has chipped in with six assists domestically but his form in the Champions League in front of goal has been far better, scoring five goals in five games.
